+ Fantastic phone for all round use.

- The battery life is appauling, I had to purchase a double battery life battery and that is still poor in the battery life stakes. Also, the ringer is very quiet.

+ Android is a brilliant software solution for mobile phones. The functionality on the phone is excellent. Good job on the touch screen too. I love the keyboard and the internet useage. Andriod = Best software solution for a phone i have come across.

+ The G1 is very easy to set up. It's even easier if you have a Google mail account. I was also able to sync my contacts from my old Nokia N95 to google, which then synced them to my new G!...Fantastic!!!
I also like the incredible number of applications there are available on the Android Market. They're easy to download and install too!

- The battery life is poor, unless you are just leaving the phone on standby all the time. There isn't an in-built task list/manager with reminders (but then there isn't really within Googlemail either). I'd like to see all the Google Apps available on Android and for them to develop more software for the platform.

- Battery is really bad. It does for at all compare to my previous phone. If there is something you can do about the battery I think you should because that is the only step back on this phone.

+ When I first saw a mobile phone a number of years ago, I thought about what my perfect phone would be like, and this is the first time I have seen one that approaches my ideal. The most important features for me are ease of use of the internet; easy, swift access to my email; the ability to customise the desktop and add applications; the opportunity to write new applications if I so wish; the fact that it does not seize up and need rebooting like other smartphones; and the fact that it is not made by Apple :o)

- The battery life is not very good - I get 48 to 60 hours normal use out of a charge.

+ Phone is fantastic, does everything i thought it would do. love the fact i can get me e-mails and facebook up on the go

- battery not so good have to turn everything off in order for it to last a day.

+ The open source philosophy of the device is what attracted me to it. I am a computer scientist and like the idea that it can be easily tinkered with.

- The battery life is slightly below par but in reality it doesn't matter too much because a usb cable in the office allows me to easily charge it off the computer.

+ the internet is very fast if i am in the good connection area. also the games are to good standards. also using the calender is very good due to it updating on the google account is well so you can see it on the interet is well on the computer

- The battery life is very poor with it being very lucky if it lasts a day. This is due to me using it alot. the speakers are not very good but the headphones are to vey high quality

+ best gadget phone i have owned, new owner but very impressed, its ease of use and design are second to none, an excellent compact phone with more than i will ever need.

- BATTERY LIFE! camera could be better (more megapixels would be nice), speakers could do with being slightly better (music should be enjoyed in very very high quality)

+ Easy to use some great apps eg local, controversial here but I don't think the battery is that bad consider it can do a lot more than most laptops were battery lasts a few hours at most. Also I don't mind lack of 3.5mm jack, I usually hate using adapters but the supplied adapter with built in mic means I can just plug my prefered 3.5mm headphones in and answer calls while listening to music. Also like tie up with my goolgle mail account and google diary with instant sync.

- GPS little flaky and battery muncher. Lack of accessories . External mic not that loud and poor quality.

+ Open source, programmable and a veritable technological swiss army knife.

- Battery life isn't great with all the features on so i'm not sure how useful having them can be. For example whats the use in a portable movie player if the battery dies after a couple of hours and you no longer have a phone?

- battery life is bad. really bad. i'm lucky if it lasts me a day at work when i'm using it a lot. but it charges through a mini usb cable so i just plug it in to my pc. simples!

+ The operating system (OS) is the best thing on the phone. It looks good aswell but definetly not a style icon.
The best think about the phone hardware is the connectivity features and the build in GPS. The best think about the OS is the many applications you can download like the Iphone but better!!!

- batteery life is very very poor, one day if you do not play with it to much. Camera does not have a flash although for me this is not a problem.

+ The phone itself is great, for texting, internet and phonecalls. The G1 is rather large but its still small compared to similiar products.

- The Battery life is a disgrace. I understand that it is like a small laptop but you need to charge it everyday. regardless of use. I would honestly hate to be a businessman who was always on their mobile, they would need to carry around a spare battery and a charger.

- i have to scroll through the contacts ... the add ons arent that great with music and ringtones ... a user guide on what to use / whats compatable would be gr8 - esp when it comes to finding add ons and downloading things only to find its not compatable.

- battery life. struggled with the saving of messages, rubbish camera, takes ages to take a photo. no flash?? no way of ususing arrow buttons...so awkward when typing mails or texts, isn't easy determining how to save to memory or choice ofSD card? but been using g1 blog site to find out some info.

+ I think the G1 is a great phone, has fun applications, web anywhere and the web is pretty quick too. The ability to connect to wi-fi hotspots is an added bonus as it speeds up the web experience. The roller ball is great as you can quickly skip to a piece of text if you've spelt something wrong and it also helps you navigate web pages easier if you have big fingers and links are close together. I find the qwerty keyboard to be a bonus as I find it easier to type with. The phone charges quickly which is good. (As battey life isn't brilliant)

- .I think the life of the battery is way too short. The phone is constantly connected to 3g network syncing with your e-mail which drains the battery, as I'm always checking and receiving e-mails chatting on google talk I sometimes find I'm charging the phone twice a day. (I know this is about the black g1 but I have used a friends white g1 and find it hard to type on the qwerty when the back light comes on as the letters on the keys seem to disappear.) The only other bad point I can think of which is probably the case with most smart phones is the fact it doesn't support flash websites but it think this is in development. Just remember it doesn't yet support bluetooth file sharing but I also believe this is under development too.

- has various issues with pairing with sat nav and blue tooth head set namely Q2 scala and rider scala with tomtom I am a bike courier and need permenant communications surley there is a standard of instructions in blue tooth code or maybe there isnt I am no programmer but am sure android will solve this common problem also phone does not show its number in status section

- Battery life, no bluetooth 2 other phones, no sat nav.

+ Applications - there is an application for everything/Touch Screen/Slide Out Keyboard/Easy to use/Easy to customize/Web n Walk/Internet access/Good signal/Large Sliding Display Screen - i can fit shortcuts for all my favourite applications on the display screen so they are literally one touch away.

- Bluetooth is NOT easy to use so much so I have never worked out how to send and receive information or media via bluetooth/Sound quality is poor. Music has very little body about it/Battery is very quickly drained and needs charging every day - i charge it every night now/ NO VIDEO CAMERA/ Poor camera quality.

+ the android market is mainly free which is good. i love how it synchronises with ur googlemail and calender etc. the applications you can get are fun. It looks great.

+ Android is a good OS and the phone has just about every gizmo you could want.

- Touch screen is not as sensitive as the iPhone, the build quality is OK but not great and the WIFI reception is really bad (no signal when other devices work fine)

+ The phone itself may seem a little bulky, but it more than outdoes itself with the full keyboard. The internet connection is generally good, and the layout is simple and easy to use. The android market is just as good as its rival, iphone, with quick download times, so long as you have signal. This phone is a good allrounder and I had no problems using it.

- The battery life lasts for about a day if you use the internet a couple of times and needs chaeging pretty much every night, which can prove annoying.
The keyboard is a little small and would be better if it was more embossed, as opposed to the flat finish that google chose to go for. If the phone doesn't receive reception for more than 10 mins, and sometimes less, it will disable itself from any network, and you will have to either turn the phone off, or go into settings and fiddle about with network connections.

+ I like having a keyboard. I find this one easy to type on with my thumbs even though I have large hands. I like being able to access Google maps so easily and quickly, subject to 3G coverage. I like the co-ordination with Google Calendar and Mail.

- As such devices become more useful, you begin to make more use of their portable functions. Needing to charge the phone everyday is a restriction. I was also disappointed that there wasn't a light version of Google docs that I could use on the phone.

+ Awesome application store will make viewing all your online things like Facebook, myspace, email, ebay etc... so easy and the full qwerty keyboard makes the games on the market easy to play I'd recommend getting snesoid

- Battery life is amazingly bad, on standby it will last a long time but use 3g and check your facebook or emails alot and you'll get about 5 hours out of this puppy, so bring you charger to work or do what I do and charge it from the usb :)
