- Good points:
- As above.
- Bad points:
- The power supply unit does not appear to be up to the usually quality. The wire from the unit is rather inflexible and seems to be brittle, giving the impression that it could 'break' easily. The R & D fellows would do well to revert to more malleable flex. Other than that - no other problems.

- Good points:
- For a DAB radio, this unit is small and reasonably light. It is easy to set up and use.
- Bad points:
- FM is OK on this radio but whilst I can receive some DAB stations in my house, I can only receive BBC stations outside in the garden. I don't have this problem with the 3 other DAB radios we use inside so I assume it is the Sony radio. Hopefully, the DAB radio signal strength will be increased in the future to solve this.

- Good points:
- Overall, a good dab radio for the price. The design is quite pleasant and easy to use
- Bad points:
- The number of stations available is quite limited. The storage space (3 pre-sets) is limiting and needs to be expanded. The mains power lead that was supplied failed after several months as the brittle cable that is supplied, snapped and I have not been able to find a replacement. I emailed Sony but they failed to respond, which was disappointing as I am a loyal customer. I am having to use batteries now, and they only last a very short time (4 x AA).

Typical solid build, and a nice-looking design compared to most DAB radios on the market at this price. Quality of sound is very good, especially when you use headphones and can appreciate stereo music broadcasts better. I am in a built-up area in south-east London and DAB reception seems excellent, which may be the radio or just that I'm in a good location. Great to hear Radio 5 Live clearly after listening on medium wave previously. It's good that it has a mains plug included, but see 'bad' points regarding the size of the plug.
It's good that you can turn off the display if you have the radio in the bedroom. - Bad points:
-
The controls are not as intuitive as I would have liked, and sometimes a bit annoying. As a tech-savvy male who's had lots of audio / video gear over many years, if I have to read the instructions for something before I can use it, then I think the manufacturer has failed in their job. Everyday things like radios should always be easy to use. This radio isn't exactly rocket science, but figuring out how to use the preset station facility does take a bit of trial and error, and if you press the wrong button you can lose the presets you've just spent ages setting up! The same applies to setting the clock, which I still haven't mastered fully.
Other slightly bad points? The plug is a bit big if you're using a 3-way adapter as it stops you using all of the other sockets. The display is pale orange / peach coloured and maybe there's a good reason for this, but I would have preferred blue or even just white/grey. I know I'm being picky!
