- Software would not work at all on my daughter's laptop, which made the device completely useless to her, but it did run on my old one. The third-rate I-Tunes-style software seems purely designed to channel you into buying music through Sony; there is no added value over buying a cheap MP3/MP4 player where you can drag and drop files directly onto the device.

Score 8.0/10+ Sonic software an improvement on previuos versions; it is easy to use and I know that being Sony it will be reliable unlike the Rio Carbon I bought that developed a fault and locked up. Exactly the same fault happened with my daughter's R Carbon.
- I should have gone for the 8G but it is too expensive. I loaded 40 X 45 minutes of In Our Time + a few CDs and it was full!
