After a bereavement my wife couldn't sleep. So we put all her favourite Agatha Christie audio books on her MP3. This allowed her to listen until she slept and again if she woke up the stories were still playing. She then went back to sleep.
An unusual recommendation I know but invaluable at this time. Battery life allows all this to take place every night. The ear pieces are small and comfortable to sleep in. Highly recommend. - Bad points:
