Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Light, good value, CAMERA easy to use, image quality fine.
Bad points:
Transfer to computer not so good - Sony's catalogue program has date taken OK, but Photoshop (commonest catalogue) shows date of transfer from camera instead there fore not maintaining correct sequence without changing all the dates, or transferring every time on the date taken. Also, cannot just remove memory card from camera and insert into card reader to transfer videos. WHY??

Good points:
I spent ages looking for a good camcorder and saw this one! I had a Canon Legria and sent it back as it made a 'purring' sound when on! this was very bad!!
So I sent it back, and hunted around some more for a camcorder. hat is when i saw the Sony handycam HDR CX115e.
Its queit as a mouse! so so much smaller than any other I have seen and tested and is VERY easy to use. I like the fact that there are very few buttons to push. This alo makes is less confusing. As if you sometimes have to many buttons, you can get confused. well i do anyways.!
So i got this one and am very pleased. I am impressed at the quality of picture/video and it takes full 1920x 1080p and i.
its amazing. You can tweak those settings easily from the menu if you so wish to!

I love the touch screen. You dont have to even push hard. It is very responsive and you only touch it very gently.

One thing I will say is if you are a mac user like me, to get the AVHCD clips off he camera to EDIT (you may not edit your clips but I like to, and i know some people like to do this) It is quite simple.
Basically a mac wont be able to read the file. So all you do s IMPORT into imovie and then go
SHARE>EXPORT and save your files as anything from .mov to quicktime, to dv...

thats it really!

So mac users remember that. imovie to import and export. Else it wont read the files.

The native files are .mts

PC users use windows movie maker to edit and make movies. I think there are other progs you can use. I like to use Final Cut Express - I think you can ues that to import direct from the camera to.

WHen importing always make sure the camera is plugged in to the computer via usb directly.
Dont take the card out and try to load it on to your pc/mac. It wont work. I know I tried it.
It states in the manual to connect up from the camera to.

This takes SDHC cards grade 4. Most nowadays are grade or class 4. So you should be fine.
This can take Sonys memory cards but they are mega expensive. You can get Sandisk or Kingston ones 16, 32 gb for half the price if you shop around.

So remember to do that.

Another nice thing with this is that it has a manual lens cover. You slide it to open/close it.
Just dont forget to close it! when it is closed and you open the screen, it will tell you that the lens cover is closed.

The macro on this is AMAZINGLY GOOD.
This is just a wonderful little camera.
