Great picture, lively and realistic colours. Great range of connections. Standard wall mount fittings. Switches AV channels automatically when you turn on your DVD player. Good programming guide, intuitive and straightforward. Basically you've got to love that Sony Bravia picture.
-
Sound is pretty flat but I never use it. I can't say I've come across a TV that does good sound so not a major drawback. Possible limitations might be only one HDMI connection when everything moves to HD.

Could do with more than 1 HDMI socket for future inputs

Excellent picture quality. Neat design, handsome product.
-
Factory picture settings over-contrasty and garish; needed adjustment. Sound quality just a shade disappointing no matter how adjusted. Pity the remote is silver rather than matching black.

digital interference is worse than non digital as it cuts across the picture and sound but that should be resolved when service completely digital.

Very good picture with some good programme search features. Probably the best digital TV picture I have seen... then again I am not a great digital fan I still prefer a good CRT picture - its not so false...!!

There are none - bar the price.... but you probably wont get a better TV cheaper..

Having bought the Sony HD ready TV, and being an existing Sky Digital subscriber.I upgraded my Sky package to the HD Box. The picture quality is outstanding especially on the nature channels, which I rarely watched previously, I now am addicted to them

None, although I could have probably got away with a bigger screen, given the width of the television.

|
HD Ready
|
‘HD Ready’ is a Europe-wide standard designed to made HD technology less confusing. HD Ready TVs must have
• Minimum vertical resolution of 750 pixels (in widescreen format)
• Ability to display 720p and 1080i formats
• An HDMI or Digital Video Interface (DVI interface)
Full HD is a higher standard. Full HD TVs have screen resolutions of 1080p and can output at least 24 frames per second.
Full HD is becoming common, but you won’t see Full HD on normal TV channels for a long time, so it remains optional for many people.

|

Scart sockets are places where you can connect other devices to your TV. If you already have a DVD player, a VCR and a Playstation you might want to make sure your new TV has enough Scart interfaces so you don’t have to keep crawling round the back of the TV.

|
1300
|
|
This figure is designed to tell you how much difference there is between dark and light colours on the TV. Plasma screens have historically boasted better contrast ratios than LCD screens.
|
