+ COMPARED TO MY LAST DISHWASHER THIS ONE IS VERY QUIET. EASY TO PROGRAME. CLEANS DISHES, POTS GLASSES AND CUTTLERY PERFECTLY. EASY TO INSTALL.

- DOESN'T DRY AS WELL AS EXPECTED AND THE CUTTLERY BASKET IS FIDDLY TO LOAD AND UNLOAD.

+ It looks great, stainless steel and minimal, and is very quiet, and simple to use once mastered, everything comes out very clean.

- Takes a little while to master the mimimal controls, ok once done so, seems to be quite tight for space inside.

+ Nice looking Brush stainless finish, Very quiet, priced quite reasonable to say its a Smeg, easy to use with no complicating programs, washes quite well.

- Drying facility is not the best, after unloading pots etc. next morning there is water still on them. Food seems to collect at the bottom of the door which can only be seen when the door is open so it seems to get trapped there. Wash tablet container could do with being a little deeper to accomodate the tablet as it seems to only just fit in.

- Blue plastic cover over the door of the machine - difficult to remove, still pieces of blue plastic stuck in the joints - saw the same issue on the display machine.

+ I bought this product because my sister has had a smeg dishwasher for over 10yrs. It looks good, is very quiet and has excellent cleaning results, I have adjusted the height to allow for larger plates.

- The dishes are too hot to touch when the cycle stops. I put an item in the bottom rack which slipped below the plastic tray and the metal cleaning blade has damaged it.

+ efficient and quite large.

- Still getting to sort out basket arrangement, not brilliant for cups, and basket arrangement for cutlery. Too many slots on base tray.

- Not very flexible internal space management, e.g. not hight adjustable trays.

- bits of food get trapped under door hinge and need to be flushed out daily by hand
loading trays tend to roll too fast losing all plates etc.
trays have to be pushed in by and and not carefuly or else they get stuck in door mouldings
cups and glasses never seem to be secure on top tray and constantly falling over

- Cutlery boxes have a tendancy to fall over and our 31 inch plates, that seem to be the fashion at the moment, don't fit in.

- Only one fault was with the dor 4 machines latter a different model and we are pleased

- too many buttons to press, why should there need to be a play/pause function? Also quite noisy.

- Cutlery basket location could be more positive, currently the location lugs allow the baskets to move easier than I would wish.

+ Quiet and very easy to load, you can move the upper tray higher so you can fit very large dinner plates in the bottom. 2 cutlery trays so you have the option of taking one out and having more space for pots and pans. This dishwasher gets used every day we have 2 kids so its been put through its paces, I would def recommend and buy again.

- The knife tray above the cup rack seems a little pointless but this doesnt detract from the overall performance of this dishwasher.

- door needs to be FULLY open to properly access lower shelf.

+ Comprehensive controls (arguably, too many options). Space seems limited compared to our old one (again, the racks and so on are very fussy, as if over-designed). Pretty quiet but I expected that for a machine more modern than my old machine.

- What I don't like is the stainless steel finish. It's fine on my Smeg range cooker but it looks wrong. OK, that's my mistake, not Smeg's but it does mean that I couldn't recommend anything other than white to a prospective buyer. Another really annoying thing is that the front was covered with blue plastic to protect it during transit. Fine but try removing it. It's trapped in the joints and I'm going to have to unscrew the front panel to get it out from there. Very annoying and will probably invalidate my warranty. Grrrr!

+ not a good choice out there for stanless steel cases, but buying on line saves you alot compared to high street shops.
at the time of buying smeg was giving a free 5 year warrenty.

- there are too many gadget things on the baskets. I struggle to get side plates in the top basket and there is no way I could wash up after a full sunday roast in one load. Disappointed as previous dishwasher was from similar high end brand and there just seemed to be soo much more room

- cups can easily fall over if not loaded carefully does not accomadate taller items trays etc. as well as our old machine a circa2000 zanussi.

+ It's a quiet machine and has a really good cleaning performance. The manufacturers claim low water use which is also a bonus. It's easy to use. Good value for money.

- It's slow to wash though I appreciate that may be due to low water use? The programming has 'crashed' once. Had to switch it off and on to get it going again. The beeper beeps 10 times (!) when you open the door mid cycle. OK beep once, twice maybe but 10 times? It's not as easy to load as our previous (antique) Bosch.

+ afraid there isnt not many good points the energy efficiency is what drew me to this machine!

- Very poor build quality machine broke after 1 use ! was replaced but still its a very flimsy body poor Door and very difficult to see lights to know what programme is on or what the machine is doing certainly not smeg quality I have come to expect from smeg - stick to what you do well fridges!

- have not managed to adjust salt level as mechanism seems too tight

+ large interior, mugs are difficult to place,but on the whole a nice dishwasher.

- sometimes does not clean everything perfectly, one or two bits, but this is at a low temperature.

+ was cheaper than a bosch

- believed that it came with a 5 year guarantee only to find that the Currys sold the machine as a DWF612WD and Smeg only covers the DWF612WE .If I had stayed with BOSCH I would have a 2 year guarantee and not 1year. Also the Smeg is not so well built as the BOSCH

+ Excellent quality for the purchase price, the machine is quiet and efficient

- No display to tell you how long it has left to run - but this is very minor

+ Overall a good machine altho they are making them a bit less robust these days, but on a plus side this is less noisey than our 18 year old Bosch (the wife thought it was looking a bit tatty but it worked perfectly!)
