Good points:: Good build quality, very quiet and easy to use. Sometimes think that the cycle times are a bit too long - especially with small loads

Good points:: Errr, fits on top of our washing machine.
Bad points:: This purchase has been a disaster. After owning a superb Zanussi for nearly seven years, we bought this Siemens product. The cupboard dry feature simply doesn't work. Yesterday, I tried to dry two sets of bedding and after using the setting three times, one of the duvet covers was still really wet and ended up on the radiator.

Good points:: Quiet, well built and very easy to use machine. Has a filter which catches fluff rather than lets it get into the base of the machine. while a bit pricier the desin looks loads better than most tumble driers.
Bad points:: Takes a bit of getting used to since settings other than with heavy loads don't really do what they say, things are less dry than say, cupboard or iron dry as per settings especially for light loads, saying that it's better than the oppositie and as they recommed putting smaller and bigger items together works well.

Vented dryers have a hose which transfers the waste, damp air out of the machine and through a hole in the wall or a window to the outside. They are less expensive than condenser machines but the hose means they need to be placed by an outside wall. Condenser machines collect the excess water within the machine which can then be emptied after use. They therefore do not need a hose and can be placed anywhere in the house.
