- Nice comfortable design.

I've had to add a LCR filter which plugs into the output device before plugging the headphones into it. This got rid of a peak at about 1800hz which was dissapointing for a headphone high up in the Sennheiser range.
I compared them to my old 70's heavy headphones which I'd added crossover filters to.
I used a tone generator, amplifier with graphic equaliser, oscilloscope, inductors, non-polarised capacitors, resistors and my trusty resonable quality ears.
They now sound excellent.

- Good points:
- Heard these at a friend's house so I knew what I was buying. Superb well balanced sound with excellent timing (It must be love - Madness is a good track to check this out). The bass response is better than I've heard before. About 18 months ago on the buffs' recommendation I bought Grado SR80s which I thought were a shade worse than awful. Lesson - audition them yourself before you buy. For me at the current price the HD600s are a steal and they'll keep me happy for a long long time (I bought 2 sets!)
- Bad points:
- A little tight on the ears - no doubt a good point if you're a head-banger!

My comments are qualified by the fact that I have tried and bought all top-of-the-range "open-back" headphones. The acid test is to record natural ambiance sounds on pro equipment such as a breeze through the forest and listen to the transparent accuracy these headphones produce. Moreover, they are--in my view--better than the Sennheiser 650--unless, of course, you like "thumpa-thumpa" music.
