+ Bought one of these for my wife's birthday and she absolutely loves it!
It's very small and compact and user friendly which is a boon for her, she hates complicated gagdgets! Also surprisingly good picture quality for what costs relatively very little in terms of camcorders.
Buy the this SD card version not the HD version as you'll be saving a packet, SD cards have come down in price big time.
Recommeded

- For this price there really aren't any!

+ Easy to use, still capture fine and easy to switch to, good display, picks up sound well, quick to film from off, quality OK though not as good as Hi-8. Well worth the money.

- Battery does not seem to hold its charge for more than a week, as said picks up sound really well unfortunately it also picks up wind noise from microphone if facing up wind it could use a muffler or keep your free hand in front of microphone during strong breeze.

+ Straight forward and easy to use without having to look up the manual every 2 minutes!

- Having trouble with the Cyberlink software that came with the camcorder - cant access it at all, but this is possibly down to our pc needing updated. Best to check you have a compatible pc!

Bought the little Panasonic flash camcorder as a gift last Christmas but this is much nicer and appears to have better image quality. Perfect for capturing family memories but perhaps not 'good enough' for those seeking something more professional.

+ very nice looking, easy to handle, it was bought for my daughter and son-in-law as a gift, she has just been diagnosed with MS but can still handle it with ease, also my husband is fighting Bladder Cancer so they came yesterday and transferred things to our computer for him to see, so this product is, along with our Samsung digital cameras,are our best buys of the last few years.
