Samsung PL60 Reviews: Digital Compact Camera

+ Very easy for the novice to use , optical zoom greater that most cameras in that range ,the picture when printed out is better than my camera that has all mod cons & cost nearly 3 times as much from a high end camera maker.
Battery live very good taken 400 odd shots and still not had to re-charge battery.
Fits in my pocket so can catch all the odd moments in an instant.
For any one buying camera for time its excellent

+ I am usually happy if a product does what it says on the box, however this little camera excels itself, in particular the smart picture setting, I took photos through glass from a great distance of friends surf boarding and the clarity was exceptional. Another good feature is the 5x optical zoom as opposed to the usual 3x. The convenient direct plug-in recharging also saves carrying extra equipment. The camera fits easily into my shirt pocket, but the excellent lense produces better quality pictures than my more expensive and bulky canon and panasonic cameras. I call it my mighty midget, and I recommend it without hesitation.

- I personally found it struggled a little in low light conditions, and the sound on the video feature could have been louder; however, the photo can easily be improved with software such as paint shop pro or similar, and as I bought it principally for still photos the video is not important to me. If video is important, then I would suggest a dedicated video camera such as the Sony, but if it's a good still camera at a very reasonable price that's required, then the Samsung PL60 will not disappoint.

+ Really compact and handy. Photos are crystal clear especially with flash mode. The on-the -camera editing option is quite great. The 'P' shooting mode with flash looks about one of the best of the various other great modes. And too many good points really.
Another thing that i have found exceptional is the movie mode. As long as you have enough memory capacity, you 're recording on. THE QUALITY OF THE MOVIES I HAVE SHOT FOR MYSELF IS LIKE THE QUALITY YOU 'LL FIND ON ANY TOP FLIGHT TV STATION.
NO REGRETS YET.

- Nothing much. But i thimk a detailed paper manual as done with earlier samsung products would have got one up & running as quickly as possible. I later realized there is one you can install from the CD though.

+ Very handy as it is small and it will fit in a pocket. Good quality photos even in low light with excellent colour. Good little camera for the money.

- Would have been better with a printed manual. Would be easier to delete pictures if it had a delete all button rather than selecting each image. Could have done with a small cheat sheet with the most used instructions on it. I used the smart mode as I had not used the camera before and all my photos had red eye.
