For people who need portability over power, this has got to be the machine of choice. Incredible battery life, good processor, large storage, reasonable memory, clear screen and excellent connectivity.
-
No DVD-rom, but you don't use that often and you can get an external USB drive if you really need one.
Not the fastest processor, but certainly adequate and rarely shows signs of struggling.

You can get a better spec laptop for roughly the same price. But, then again, the portability and the battery life more than make up for it.

I like the size, the keyboard.
-
Obviously there is no CD/DVD drive, the screen is a bit shiny (I knew that), the battery life is nowhere near 9 hours, the sound is tinny, but I knew that too. It is a bit expensive, especially having to buy an external cd drive to install programmes.
I was mainly disappointed by the battery life which seems to be around 4 or 5 hours, and that is on normal or optimum use of battery.

Everything - works really well, but only if you know what you are doing with USB and networking. I've set my N110 up by deleteing all the basic stuff that comes preloaded on a hidden partition, reformatted and loaded XP pro. It now does what I want it to, when I wnat to do it. Everything backed up to an external drive and a bootable USB stick is in reserve should I need it.
-
It would be far better if it came with a USB stick capable of booting from and with the supplied software on USB rather than a CD - otherwise you need to create these USB tools unless you want to buy an external DVD player to allow a reload with any degree of ease.
An external DVD player is just an additional expense on top of what is already an expensive netbook

Size and weight excellent. Used by proffessional marine pilot for running nav chart programme.
Start up time good.
Keyboard good.
Built in bluetooth very handy.
I have now got used to the size and have given my main laptop to my son, I don't have a desktop, the N110 fulfills all my computer needs.
-
Can't really find any bad pointds.
An illuminated keyboard for night work would be particularly usefull for my purposes.

Track Pad is situated off-centre to the left which makes it difficult to use for right-handers. Also the track pad left and right buttons are quite stiff (setting track pad 'tapping' ON is easier than using the mouse buttons)
10" screen is okay but the letterbox dimensions limit the visible area of documents and web pages if, like me, you are used to having a couple of toolbars open. I think maybe a higher resolution screen would help here.

Nice and portable. Decent battery life (the reason I bought it). The fact that although the screen is smaller, web pages are formatted so that you don't have to scroll sideways to read them too. Keyboard is pretty good.
-
A wee bit slow and doesn't like to do more than one thing without being fussy. TV show streaming is choppy, lots of buffering. Webcam constantly freezes during calls. Shift key is a bit small and further over than on normal keyboards, so you end up making lots of typos

- Excellent battery performance (up to around 8hrs real use).
- Draft N Wifi for extended distances.
- Bluetooth.
- Overall superb build quality.
- Excellent for connecting up to a HD TV for video playback with no hassle at all.
-
- Little bit pricey in comparison to similarly spec'd competitors (but worth it for the build quality).
- Top of laptop is a major fingerprint magnet.
- Performance lacks in graphics card - as with all netbooks.

Portable, light and very useful when travelling to manage business on the go. Nice eye-catching style in black but easily marked. Easy set up and to use.
-
Left-hand uppercase key appears to be wrongly position to the normal keyboard layout and can cause many errors if you are a touch typist. Also the return key is fairly small.
Casing very prone to marking as in glossy black - a matt finish may be better.

The N110 is one of the best netbooks I've used. Its features and ergonomics are just about as good as they get. The build quality is excellent and the styling is just right.
-
The current trend to have glossy finishes on the case and screen have inevitable consequences - finger marks have to be wiped away with great care and regularity and the screen suffers from reflections, but the colour reproduction and screen luminance and contrast are good. The Samsung battery utility and automatic update utility don't like running with limited user rights - there are work-arounds, but Samsung should have thought about this.

The battery life is amazing, nothing I've ever had or seen comes close to this! The screen is sharp and is high enough resolution to navigate around the web with no problem. The processing power is high enough to run open office and other useful software. A great netbook - highly recommended!
-
The processing power is slightly too low to run bbc iplayer properly :( but this is down to the bloated iplayer software, because it can play other standard def video no problem. I also had a problem connecting to a friends WiFi connection - don't know if this is a hardware or software issue - but it connects fine to my O2 router.

The N110 is great for students like myself who need a netbook in order to communicate with friends and family whilst on the move, in my case, taking a gap year to spend abroad.
It's lightweight, compact and holds up to the stylish look of high performance business laptops, without looking like a poor relation. The 1.3mp webcam and inbuilt microphone are perfect to use on instant messaging service, making it easy to see, be seen and talk to friends and family.
Brillant buy!
-
The speakers aren't great if you're keen on playing music, but it links up to any separate speakers you may have fine.
The battery life doesn't last 9 hours if you're using it regularly, but it doesn't take long to charge, which compensates for this negative.
The text on-screen takes a while for your eyes to adjust to, as it's quite small, but one gets used to this after a while.

Only issue I've come across so far is that the 1024x600 screen is a bit small for things like Dreamweaver and Photoshop. If you are using these every day, this is definitely not the machine for you. For me, when I only use them every now and then, I just plug it into my husband's desktop screen, load up the dual-screen function (3 button clicks) and I'm off and running.

I chose it and my husband bought it for my birthday :-). Absolutely love it. Really nice design (i have the all white one) and light too. The battery life is unbelievably good - doesn't take long to charge and you get a full 8 hours worth!! Starts up quickly too. Small enough to fit in a good sized handbag ladies but big enough that you won't be squinting at the screen!
-
A minor gripe is that sometimes you can't see a full webpage. This can be overcome by pressing the F11 key but even then the pages don't always show in full. Maybe I have missed something from the instructions so it might just be me! Still, it hasn't been a big problem and I still love it! Only other thing (which is why i gave the design 9/10 and not10/10) is that the light for the caps lock is tiny and hidden by your hand when typing. This is slightly annoying when typing case sensitive passwords and you don't realise for a few moments that the caps lock is on - but really minor design flaw!!

Keyboard is one of the best I've used on a Netbook. Screen is gloss which I'm used to but some may not like. I've already dropped it once, from a height of a little less than a metre, and it survived with no damage.
-
Power adaptor is larger than my Asus EeePC and adds to weight and bulk. Samsung logo at bottom of screen has rubbed off slightly. Case/sleeve provided is virtually useless - doesn't fasten shut and will only protect against the risk of scratches. I bought a Sweex neoprene sleeve from Amazon for about £12 which seems to do a good job but Asus are able to supply good sleeves in the box.

Look's good, long battery life depending on using the right settings, light and easy to carry around. Large enough hard drive to cope with lots of photo's and music files. Keyboard very easy to use, even with my large fingers!!
-
Once I'd got rid of a lot of the preloaded software and installed my own, it's even quicker. Why does it come with a DVD with software on it, but the computor doesn't have DVD drive ? Why not come with a preloaded pendrive instead?

I think the Samsung N110 is a great deal. It's the right size and weight for carrying around on your travels. Very handy when you want to look something up, check your facebook and send an email. I use Skype on mine and the built-in webcam shows good quality on video calls which will make interacting with friends and family fun.

The NC-10 had a 9-hour battery life as does the N110, however, I have only noticed the maximum charge time at 6.5 hours. It's not really too bad as it is twice as long as most laptops/netbooks.
