Score 8.0/10+ Superb 1080p HD Quality, super sharp images and great sound, works great with Xbox 360, and the overall look is fantastic. Works great with Sky HD package.
- Does not give as high quality standard definition picture as I would have expected and took a lot of work with the settings to get the quality of SD better than is was out of the box, I was also disappointed with DVD playback quality and had to purchase a HDMI cable for the DVD player to get a good picture on DVD playback.

Score 9.0/10+ Amazing product, biggest bang for your buck, lovely design, great picture, no dead pixels
- small point for techies: - cannot output 1080p via vga cable from old xbox 360, and samsung firmware is a hassle to update if you need this. however this will only affect a handful of the population with this dilema, besides there is a new cable to work around this minor issue.

Score 9.0/10+ The very best 1080p picture you are ever likely to see. It's breathtaking. All the sockets you'll ever need and it looks as good switched off.
- Power on/off switch only switches set too standby. To power down completeley requires unplugging from mains.

Score 9.0/10+ Excellent image quality and size, colours are viberant and much brighter than the 42" panasonic i used to have. I would say out of all 52" LCD's on the market this is close to, if not the best!
- Black can sometimes look grainy or off colour and the image can sometimes become distoted if the pictue is moving very quickly but this is extremely rare! I would say the many positive qualities of this screen easily out weigh the negatives!

Score 7.0/10+ brill in HD 1080p game mode on xbox 360 or ps3, evan great with the wii due to the size of screen. for a nice big 1080p TV on a budget THIS IS THE ONE!!!
- my HD LG plasma 50" looks a better HD picture when sky HD is on then this samsung 52" LCD this 52" samsung looks like a 50" TV.

Score 7.0/10+ Looks and design. HD Channels look great (most of the time)
- High speed motion is very blurry - bad for a supposed high spec TV. Deep black pictures are more of a grey/purple. Objects on the screen (especially people) get a blurry outline when there is a lot going on in the picture

Score 9.0/10+ Streamline design, swivel facility gives best viewing angle. The HD quality the best for game consoles.

Score 10.0/10+ i purchased this tv after 6 months of deciding and the reason for purchase is purely down to the size, contrast and full hd output of the tv. I know samsung tv's are not so good for reliability but if you maintain the tv as it sould be then it will last quite long. Also the tv has quite alot of outputs and can be used for a range of different uses.
- the speakers in the tv are actually quite bad but i main point is if u purchase a tv like this and you can afford to buy it , you should at least have the money to buy a very good in home cinema system. the remote control menu takes a long time to work your self around it but you only have to do it once so not that bad really.

Score 9.0/10+ Excellent screen quality - darks are pretty black, not grey like many LCDs. Plenty of HDMI slots. Great aesthetics, suprisingly doesn't take up as much room as you'd think.
- Sound isn't exceptionally meaty - thoughif you're buying this big a tele you should really have the surround sound system.

- The picture qualilty sometimes on cerain channels is very poor. There like a fuzziness around the people. sometimes when the picture is moving it looks like there are two pictures ( like a ghosting). But at other times it is good.

Score 8.0/10+ Fantastic black coupled with really good colour.Looks great too.
- Sound was disappointing. However I use an A/V receiver with 5.1speakers & I would imagine that most buyers of a 52" LCD would do the same. It would seem more sensible to offer a cheaper model without sound.

Score 8.0/10+ Good overall quality of picture, excellent sound and good looks.
- Initial instructions of how to take the base stand off, prior to waal mounting was non existant.

Score 9.0/10+ I thourght there was picture in picture in the modle but for some reason and my be it may have been my fault there not?
- The remote could be a bit me user friendly and robust

Expert reviews for Samsung LE52M86BD
TechRadar expert review
Samsung's debut 1080p LCD TV, the LE40F71, looked great, was reasonably priced, and, sometimes, its pictures rocked. But there were too many performance inconsistencies for my liking, and the lack of a digital tuner didn't exactly float the forward-thinking boat.Cue Samsung's latest Full HD flagship: the range-topping 52-inch LE52M86BD - known as 'Tulip' in Samsung's inner circle for less than obvious reasons. So will this ¬£2,600 flower put Samsung properly on the Full HD map?Samsung's growing reputation for design is undiminished, with the LE52M86BD's jet-black, high-gloss screen bez…
