Score 8.0/10+ I didn't find the phone as hard to use as i thought i would. I had read other reviews that said there is no point in getting the phone unless you are a computer genius- this is not true. The applications are good and internet browsing is relatively easy. The sound quality when listening to the radio is very good. There are lots of cool gadgets, like handwriting reognition when sending texts etc.
- I found scrolling through my phonebook a nightmare! Battery life isn't great either. I had problems with my Omnia crashing, the screen would just go completely blank. I had 2 with the same problem. Overall i did like the phone and think it has some great features but to be honest for me they are features that would rarely be used.

Matt, Cambridge , “I'm a PC”
Score 9.0/10+ I love this phone, the camera is excellent in comparison to the iphone. In my opinion puts the omina way ahead of its Apple rival. The 8GB storage seems to go on forever; I have put plenty of TV shows and films on it and there is still loads of space left. This thing has so many features that for over a week I used it without even making a call; I almost forgot it was a phone!? Overall, fantastic! I'm very happy with this purchase.
- It did take quite a bit of setting up to get everything working properly, and I still havn't quite found an onscreen keyboard setup that I really feel comfortable using. However, there are plenty to choose from and having used the iphone, can say the apple on screen keyboard is no better. In the words of my iphone owning friend, "Yours (the omnia) is a more sensible phone, it's better than mine (iphone) in every way... but Apple have better advertising and I got sucked in. The iPhone is just a toy I will loose interest in. It's fun, but it doesn't do the job."

Ron, Bournemouth , “regular user, like gadgets ”
Score 3.0/10+ It is very attractive and does operate well as a phone. the large screen is normally very bright and clear.
- It is stylish but the touch screen is very difficult to work with. It is nowhere near as responsive as my Itouch. I have difficulty typing in text messages and often end up pressing the send button when I am trying to select a character from the bottom row of the keyboard. The format of messaging is quite bizzare. but this may just be a settings issue that I have yet to resolve. I also have trouble reading the screen in bright daylight and as there is no alternative but to use the touch screen is becomes difficult to operate.

Score 9.0/10+ excellent phone, takes a bit of time to get used to but once you have it's very rewarding. 5MP camera is one of the best i've seen. 8gb memory will store just about everything you need. sell your digital camera, mp3 player and your current phone and get yourself one of these
- Battery life is not the best but for this type of phone its bearable, yes you will have to charge it once a night but you will be asleep so you won't need to use the phone.

Score 9.0/10+ Really easy to use, took a day to work out how to do everything as there are fast and slow ways to do everything, but once you know how - its simple!!!
- Very low sound on ring tone - have to upload a custom tune to make sure you can hear it when it rings!!! Not a major problem - just a niggle. Didn't come with a manual - have to download one

Score 9.0/10+ Multi functional. Does absolutely everything. I particularly like the hand writing recognition software. Overall I think it is brilliant and wipes spots off the Apple iphone. It has a 5MP camera with face recognition and card slot for expansion.

Score 7.0/10+ Only had the phone a few weeks, growing to like it. Once your use to the phone and have spent time setting it up the way you want it, it works. Camera is great, sound is good screen to view is great and it all looks good. Good solid phone
- The touch screen leaves a little to desire. the scrolling is a little off and using opera internet is a night mare. The home screen could have been a lot better, ie diamond touch or having a lot more choice on the samsung wedgits. Having issues with wifi and phone, once seems to crash the other, but not quite sure whats happening there yet.

Gemma, Hull , “very rarely satisfied women”
Score 8.0/10+ Once adjusted to the type of product this is (touch screen) it is incredibly easy to use. It has a fantastic camera and the large capacity allows for a large amount of music to be stored on it. If the capacity of the phone isnt enough, the phone allows for a micro sd card, so you can store further information on this
- The only bad point that i can think of is that no atunement to the transcriber can make it recognise what your trying to write. However, this is quite a novelty feature and once it has worn off, its more than likely that you would return back to normal texting format. It is not an easy phone to use if you are not familiar with the workings of a computer due to the similarites with it
purchased 20 Nov 2008
Thom, London
Score 8.0/10+ This phone looks great, the internet is blingingly fast and the interface couldn't be more familiar for those used to Windows. The touchscreen is pretty responsive and the way it can be used is flexible and smart. Video playback is beautifully sharp. There are some very nice touches indeed - turning the phone screen-down to silence it, for example, is clever.
- The battery doesn't last long if you're using the internet a lot. But, then, I kind of expect that. The keyboard is a bit titchy. A lot titchy. The onboard "Touch Player" has a terrible interface and the sound output is tends to the quiet.

Expert reviews for Samsung i900 Omnia
TechRadar expert review
Samsung has been loving its iPhone-style full frontal touch screens of late. We've had the the F490, which was pretty bad, the Tocco, which was surprisingly good, and now the Omnia, which is easily the best yet, and the first that can seriously measure up to the iPhone it's obviously designed to challenge.Intuitive touchscreenStyle-wise it's a sturdily built slab of minimalist cool, with call start and stop buttons flanking a motion-sensitive D-pad beneath the sumptuous 400x280-pixel, 65,000-colour screen. On the sides are volume controls, power/headphone socket, camera shutter button…
