+ The only good thing about this machine is it looks good.

- Instructions are difficult to understand, the quality of picture is poor, the colour tone does not match the colour settings on the tv. The overall operation is over comlicated with far too many options and is very time consuming.

+ looks good - didn't test the performance

- Unfortunately you can't watch Freeview while the timer record facility is in use. This is the way early VCRs were before separate tuners were incorporated. Hopefully samsung will put a separate tuner in this DVDSR 150M.

+ Easy user guide for recording, good quality recordings at various levels of resolution.

- Not clear in the user manual about finalising the disc. I found if the disc was finalised without renaming the recordings a finalised disc won't play on the unit, but will play on any other DVD player - found this out after I had disposed of used discs.

+ Looks good and I found it fairly easy to set up for first use.

- This kit is being used by my dad, but apparently it only remembers channels for a few hours before you need to go through the entire channel-search process.

+ This machine is very easy to use, if I can ues it I think most people will be able to. It is easy to set up digital channels. I do like Sansung products.

- I have noticed that this mahine does loose it's channels from time to time, and I have had to auto setup tham again, but doesn't take long, and it hasn't happened while I was recoreding. Also I have a problem changing the recoreding length, and looking at the remote the book it says to hit the REC MODE button, but I found I was pressing the wrong button, you must press the green B button, I was hitting the one below.

Sarah, Harrogate , “Quite good with technology!”

Score 7.0/10

+ Sleek design, easy to set up.

- Manual doesn't explain the digital elements. It took us much trial and error to get the channels stored as you need to select 'free' only and not 'all'. It doesn't seem to like Kodak DVD-RW disks, despite saying they can be used and you get a message saying this disk cannot be recorded on or played. No idea which media will work.

+ Price, stylish design, overall quality and ability to unfinalise discs(previously finalised on this product)

- Instructions for use hard to follow. Too many assumptions, lacks basic staged instructions.
Use of -(minus) discs only should be made clear in advertising of product. Also lacks HDMI socket
