Chris, Kings Lynn , “Graphic artist iMac user.”
Score 9.0/10+ Very easy to install and set up for an Apple iMac. Very quiet when printing, very good print quality, small footprint for a colour laser printer.
- A full set of replacement Samsung CMYK laser toners can be expensive. Third party replacements can be found for half the price.

Roy, Blackpool , “retired graphic designer/photographer”
Score 9.0/10+ Price, size and weight are class-leading. Quality on graphics is excellent, on text very good and on photos more than acceptable
- a nagging worry about the eventual running costs - toner and imager replacement - and lack of compatible (and therefore cheaper) non-Samsung alternatives

Score 9.0/10+ A lot faster than an inkjet especialy when only using black. Printed 150 colour fliers faster than I could fold them. Ideal for printing a faint colour watermark background then overprinting as its a dry printing process.
- Had a problem trying to use HP photo paper it totally crunched it up.

Alistair, Kirkcaldy , “Photographer and writer”
Score 9.0/10+ Good quality of prints and text. Once it warms up I think it will churn out copies all day. Very quiet in operation compared to ink-jet printer. 150 pages in paper feed means less running out of paper.
- A little slow to initially print but once it gets going there is no stopping it. You need to 'fan' your photo paper before inserting to avoid jams and you also need to experiment to find the best paper to work with for phot work but once you find best paper there are no problems.

Felicity, Tewkesbury , “office chick”
Score 9.0/10+ The printer was really easy to set up, no hassle at all; just put the software in and followed the steps! The print speed is fast, for both mono and colour. However, it takes a little while to 'warm up' at the start of each new print batch but it's only about a minute. When it warms up, it doesn't do any test prints like other makes so the ink isn't wasted. For what I got for the price, I think it was excellent value for money. I have found Samsung to be a v good make for computer products and will definately buy from them again.
- It's not really a bad point, it just could be a little better. The print quality isn't as crisp as it could be but then that could also depend on the quality of the paper used - I just pick up whatever's reasonably priced! For day-to-day office use it's great, but if you need to make high quality prints, you probably require a higher spec printer with better dpi.

Score 8.0/10+ very small and has its own self contained paper tray
- cannot handle stiff paper as it has not pass through for stiffer paper. My last printer has a flap on the back that was handy to let stiffer paper pass through without needing to bend it. Same thing applys to envelopes.

It works straight out of the box.
It will work with 'ailien' soft ware e.g. Epson Smart Panel' perhaps others too

Non so far.
I disregard the 'Speed bogey' this does seem to be a somewhat over stated' requirement in all reviews of printers.
There are many factors to affect the output speed of a device not all [to do with the ability of the device to deliver.- e.e. what other background tasks are going on with the controlling computer]

Score 10.0/10+ Can print on recycled paper. Excellent.
- Tonner a bit too dear. Can it be refilled?

Brenda, Plymouth , “Novice at installations”
Score 10.0/10+ Very easy to instal for someone without any skill at this - like me !
- No bad points, totally satisfied. Printer takes a little time to warm up but that is not a problem for a home user.

Score 7.0/10+ Looks smart, and was a good price.
- The print quality is quite disappointing.... sometimes, on the best print setting, it exceeds expectations, but often - if say, printing out emails, it's very poor.

Score 10.0/10+ Extremely compact for a laser printer, and quieter than many I have used. Output is of high quality, and speed is excellent.
- None encountered thus far.

Score 3.0/10+ small light
- blocks easily, broke down in first few months, slower printing than i thought

Ronald, Knaresborough , “male, married, long retired”
Score 9.0/10+ Very efficient and neat fits nicely on my desk very good value for the money.
- None, however I have yet to experience the cost of replacement inks

james, manchester , “just an average guy”
Score 8.0/10+ The price & the cost of replacement consumables. The size is ideal for confined work spaces. Finally the attractive appearence of the printer.
- The only downside is possibly the speed of printing, although it's no worse than many other much more expensive printers,

Expert reviews for Samsung CLP-315
TechRadar expert review
Samsung markets its new CLP-315 as 'the world's smallest laser printer' and there's no way you can argue with that. Little bigger than most mono laser printers, this small black machine takes up very little room. It may only have a 150-sheet paper tray, but it's quiet in use and pages feed out on the top of the machine. This is a pretty basic printer. It only includes one USB connection and features a four-pass colour print mechanism, which means that colour pages take roughly four times as long to print as black ones. Samsung quotes 17ppm for black and 4ppm for colour, and we got reas…
