+ Being an old foggie, I often find complex electronics difficult to use. This radio did not present any special problem. It's very easy to see what you are able to listen to, and has revolutionised my listening to Test Match Special and The Jazz.

- Batteries do drain down quite fast: 6-8 hours seems to be it. Rechargables are hopeless, as they produce 1.2 not 1.5 volts, and last ten minutes. An alternative aerial would be good, as the headphone wire isn't ideal in marginal reception conditions.

+ Good solid build quality and performance. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Good battery life. Reception quality quite good - we don't live in a strong signal area and can still get about 30 or so stations. Good sound quality from the earphones if they fit in your ears

- Earphones rather large and I need to replace them with some smaller in-ear phones, but that's a personal preference.
Hard to change station without looking at the display to see what you're doing - too many functions on a single control button
