+ electronic program guide and ability to record

- compatibility problems with many common makes of SD card and no information available on "approved" makes/models from the manufacturer - only through trial and error (and expense!) did I find that the relatively rare Panasonic SD cards work reliably. Readily available San Disk do not work.

+ Excellent design, and quite easy to use and understand.

- DAB reception is not as good as it could be. PURE products receive DAB rather easier and clearer than roberts.

+ The design and build quality are excellent. Unfortunately I am trying to get it to work in a valley where DAB is limited to a few chanels. Fortunately the aerial comes off so that you can connect an external aerial to the f-type connector revealed. All I have to do now is get a good enough aerial and raise it high enough to get my first DAB signal :-(

+ recording to memory card- playback ,shuffle, clear large blue screen.
on screen info for reference.
clarity of sound.
tasty design.

- it s about time the big cumbersome and delicate ariel was replaced on all radios.
could have surround sound setting options for more dynamic range of sound.
usb lead transfer takes a long time to sync, quicker when card is removed then dragged and dropped on pc.

JILL, DORSET , “Music lover - especially”

Score 9.0/10

+ I like all the advanced technology - the EPG is really good, and the ability to record programmes direct from the EPG. Everything has been thought out well - with this radio you are not only able to record to SD card - but also download your recordings to your PC via the USB. The radio should get better with time - as more radio stations use EPG (not that many do at the moment).

- I found it quite difficult to get a DAB reception - but now I have found a good location in the room I wanted the radio in - the problem has resolved.

TW, Cardiff , “Mid40's computer / gadget”

Score 8.0/10

+ Sounds good, nice large display; basically does a good job, but with a few niggles (see below). The user manual is good; it's refreshing not to have to decipher the appalling Chinese English manual that lets so many electronic consumer products down these days. Easy to use - I bought it for my wife's birthday (she likes things nice and simple) and she loves it.

- Can't jump forward by day in EPG, you just have to keep scrolling. Can't do anything else when displaying "info" about track etc. - this should be displayed by default. Can't do anything else when playing back. Pressing Record during a programme just records from that point, doesn't record from begining of programme retrospectively (like a PVR will, if it's already on that station) and doesn't stop at the end of the programme, unless you go into the EPG. Playback mode buzzes when no track is being played. "Pause Plus" not long enough; it only pauses five minutes even with an SD card (which isn't supplied). Would prefer Roberts retro style - but they don't have the same features.

+ Easy to use and convenient way to record programmes to SD card for later playback. The EPG works well

- the SD card slot does not have a cover and points upwards good for collecting sdust when not in use, not so good for staying clean.
