+ Excellent radio - bought for mother-in-law and she loves it. Simple enough to set up (for me!) and operate (for her!!). She says this DAB radio has opened up a whole new world of clarity for her listening choices. Loves it so much, she's bought another for her cousin. Would highly recommend this item.

- None that we have discovered thus far.

+ Great design, small and compact. Sound quality is excellent. You can also plug in your ipod and listen to your own tunes if you wish.(although you need to purchase a separate connection lead).

+ well I bought it as a Christmas gift for my technophobe septuagenarian mum and when testing it with her I was very happy to find that she could easily work it out for herself. It's to replace her 1950's ghetto blaster.
I actually would like one for myself and really love the design of it - simple tasteful design and decent sound quality for the price.

- I would probably be looking towards the solar powered options now with DAB radios.

+ Its so easy to use that even my wife, who admits she is a yoyo with electronic equipment was able to set it up quite easily and is totally happy with it, especially the reception. She reckons that it is much better than a previous DAB that she had
Its also very neat and compact.

- None that we can think of.

+ Looks great, controls are easy to use.

- MP3 player capability is a let down. I was expecting a USB port to connect my MP 3 player but it is just a standard phone line so it uses the battery in the MP3 player as well as the power to operate the Pure DAB radio.

Expert reviews for Pure One Classic

TechRadar expert review

Imagine if Apple released a budget version of its iPod that was made of black shiny plastic and didn't have a clickwheel - and cost just ¬£50. That may not be Apple's style, but that's the approach Pure Digital has taken with its One DAB radio. Basic instinctLike the styling, the One's connectivity is basic, with just a headphone jack and a USB slot, the latter designed only for occasional software updates via Pure's website. It's also got some nifty features. Intellitext allows you to select the latest headlines - in scrolling text format - from the world of Formula One, football and …
