Philips MCB204 Hi Fi System Reviews: DAB with

+ it has a usb port

- it is difficult for older people to change the DAB stations

+ Excellent value for money - does what it says on the tin. Haven't tried using the USB yet, but really happy with this product - especially having another DAB in the house.

+ My first Digital radio, and I am very impressed with it.

- Very picky points;
Angle of LCD (but only because it is on a high shelf)
Info/RDS scrolls quite slowly

- Sometimes the reaction time is slow when using the remote control.

- we cant use the dab side of the radio

+ We have a lot of tapes and its great to find a machine which can play them. Also the USB input takes memory sticks so we can play all our downloaded tracks too.

- The DAB arial is fixed and there is no socket for a separate or rooftop arial, so we cannot received so many stations as would be possible.

+ Cheap with many forms of input.

- Misses the first 1 sec of CD playback. Not all remote control functions work correctly eg CD fast forward.

+ Really good spec for price, USB, DAB Radio, Bass and Treble adjustment, Bass Boost, Remote etc.. Very nice modern design. Good clean sound.

- Very awkward to operate tape controls, you tend to push the unit away as you do it!

+ The design of the product looks good. It has suffiecient weight (i.e. does not move when you press a button). The sound quality is good to loud volumes and fills an average size room very well. The sleep timer and alarm functions are very useful. The USB capability is good and plays the music well. The Dynamic Bass Boost works well. The remote works from a good distance away.

- The device does not play WMA with any DRM, even if the DRM is to say it can be played, however it will play MP3s no problem. The back-light of the screen only goes off when put into Eco-Power (press Power button for 2 seconds). Unfortunately, it does not go into Eco-Power mode when the Sleep-Timer turns the unit off, so backlight remains on all night unless manually turned off, which I personally find too bright to sleep with it on.

+ The MP3 connectivity is brilliant. You just plug it in a play! Nice and small, since the space where I wanted to put it is limited. The Eco Power idea is excellent.

- The CD player has an audible gap between tracks, where normally you'd run smooth from one track to the next. Also, has developed buzzing sound when in Eco Power.

+ simple operation, sound perfect for small rooms

- casssette controls too stiff,unit has to be placed against a wall so it won't slip around

+ Like the sound - for the money it is very good value. Used in the bedroom so more than adequate
