Score 8.0/10+ The Panasonic Viera range recently occupied the top eight 'Best Buy' positions in a 'Which?' survey of flat panel TVs, and having just bought the TX26LMD70, I can see why. With good, strong colours and depth of blacks, the picture is bright and natural. Sound deinition is really good, once you have fiddled around to get it to your taste. And the package is stylish and good looking. I would definitely recommend this set.
- Not bad points, but niggles... SOUND: The sound set up has only two basic settings: Speech and Music, together with bass and treble adjustments. I have always believed that you should be able to set a sound system to 'Flat' so you can hear everything just as the sound engineer intended, so why don't Panasonic include this setting in the menu? Speakers are fine, however, so once you've set it up right, the sound is very punchy and clear. VISION: This is not a criticism of just Panasonic, but, it seems, of all digital video systems, and that is the problem of it being non-analogue. This means that all the colours have to step from one value to the next digitally. The effect of this is that it is impossible to get a smooth gradient of colour across the screen - and this in turn leads to odd fringing effects, especially when a gradient of colour is faded in or out - fringes appear to move across the screen as the brightness of the image changes. Panasonic sets in particular seem to deal with this problem reasonably well, but not entirely.

Score 10.0/10+ Its just a top quality product. The sound and visual quality is perfect, and for the price you cant really go wrong. I wouldnt look back, and if I wanted a 2nd TV, I'd buy the same one over and over again. It also is amazing for the PS3 running at 1080 in HD. Top purchase
- I cant really fault the product - I guess the only thing I have found is it sometimes changes screen size, but that might be down to the TV Channel I am watching!!

Score 9.0/10+ excellent picture and sound quality, easy to set up. we have fitted to the wall on an extendable bracket which works well overall for us.
- I don't think i have found any bad points as yet, the only one point i can think of is that the actual casing of the tv is quite deep so does stand slightly proud of the wall but overall this does not cause a problem.

Score 9.0/10+ Very good picture quality, quite easy to use. Pleasing design. Good TV for an average size of lounge, anything larger would be obtrusive.

Score 9.0/10+ Brilliant picture which can be viewed at a wide angle. Easy controls for the TV
- Remote only works other Panasonic devices and my hard disk recorder remote does not work all the functions on the TV. Guess I need to buy a Panansonic recorder!

Expert reviews for Panasonic TX26LMD70
TechRadar expert review
Panasonic has been the LCD manufacturer to beat in group tests for some time and this 26in upholds that enviable tradition in fine style. A handsome and well-equipped TV, the 26LMD70A is a great all-round package. It beats many of its peers for user-friendliness, picture finesse, and, if you combine all that and consider it in terms of its price, offers excellent value too. It's a very comfortable set with Freeview, DVDs look sharp and dynamic, and high-definition material is as richly detailed as you'll see on a 26in set. Add to that audio that destroys the rest of the field and you ha…

TechRadar expert review
In the LCD TV Premier League, Panasonic is undoubtedly the champion. Loved by the public and critics alike, its flatpanel TVs consistently finish at the topof the table when it comes to picture quality and feature lists. In a bid to defend its title, the company has added a new member to the 2007 squad ‚Äì In-Plane Switching Alpha (or IPS-A for short). This new panel technology increases the LCD viewing angle to 178¬∞, which (theoretically) keeps the picture looking solid whether you‚Äôre wide on the wings or sat in the centre.IPS-A is joined on the TX-26LMD70‚Äôs team sheet by V-Real 2…
