+ Sound quality is very good, especially from a HDMI source. Picture quality depends greatly on what you are watching, some digital channels broadcast a terrible image, and with a big screen such as this all you see are the flaws. Having said that, Blu-ray films look very good, the contrast is deep and the colours rich and vibrant, and this particular t.v. remembers it's settings for each input eg:sky channels require you to set the tv to high contrast and brightness in order to get the best image whilst on blu-ray you need a sharper more dynamic setting which the tv stores as a preference, including the sound level. The remote control is well laid out with big soft-touch buttons. The look of this t.v. has an overall feel of a quality product, and the stand it sits on feels very sturdy. I also liked the way that it will set itself up when you first turn it on, it scans all the available channels and stores them all in the correct order, gone are the days when I'd have to spend an entire afternoon trying to manually search through frequencies and then assign a channel number to each. One last note, having stood and looked at alot of other televisions in alot of stores, I would have to say that other than a PIONEER, (which is Waaaay out of my price range, and besides they stop making them in 2010) this represents the best image and sound when compared to all the others, that's why I bought it, 600hz, 1080p, high contrast ratio and it's a plasma, which at this size means none of the drawbacks of LCD such as ghosting, pixelation, poor black levels and faded colours. You pay for what you get.

- I've tried to be honest about my review, this is my first big flat screen t.v. and while I'm happy with my purchase, I will say that it is not THE most jaw dropping visual experience you will ever see (the only place for that is still in a cinema) As I have mentioned above, the image quality is entirely down to the source, if you can afford a digital High Def box like SkyHD then get it, same with Blu-ray, the picture and sound is beautiful, but on analogue or some of the lesser digital channels the image quality simply sucks. Also, as good as the t.v. is, it doesn't half attract the dust (though I realise that may be down to me) Aside from this minor gripe, there seem to be no other bad points. When it comes to BIG screen t.v.'s, spending a little more is better than buying cheaper, in the end all you get is a trade off, sacrificing enjoyment for the sake of saving a bit of money.

+ I'll keep it short. The picture is brilliant and ignoring all the claims about how black is black etc, it has the wow factor. I bought this Viera to replace my original 42" Viera 2006 Model as my primary panel and the difference is amazing when using a like for like input (e.g. Sky non HD, upscale DVD). It was so easy to customise utilising a clear menu system and I am taking advantage of the Viera Link functionality to my other (enabled) Panasonic devices. Even setting up the network link was a doddle. It's early days yet (only had it 3 days) so just to explain about the picture, the colours are so lustrous watching the Simpsons is like seeing it in true colour for the first time. The blacks are amazing and the white is pure, giving superb contrast. My best example yet is having previously been to Vegas (If you have you'll know that the buildings are all lit) and then watched "What happens In Vegas" was like being there. The subtle tones and sharpness between light and shade was fantastic. Definitely no regrets splashing out on this one.

- none.

+ I was worried about how my sketchy freeview reception would look on a 50" screen. However, when it arrived and I plugged it in I was immediatley impressed by the quality of the picture. The tv upscales Sd very well with some scenes in films or visually stunning adverts looking like hd. The worst offenders were the music channels which broke up on my old CRT. The set up is fool proof and the design is striking. it looks impressive in my living room.

- Unfortunately a few features that I had read about in reviews of the G10, namely THX picture mode and Viera Cast are not available on the UK model which I bought (G10B). Although it makes me furious that these features are not available for UK buyers unless they shell out for the more expensive V10 model I still remain impressed with the TV.

+ Picture quality is amazing, when compared to other competitors. Normally the bigger the size of the TV the more distortion of picture. However this Panasonic delivers in the picture quality and even analogue TV and freeview is clear with no blurring or double vision. High definition is crystal clear and well worth it. All Tv's are judged on the way they deliver deep blacks and this Panasonic does not disappoint, even in freeview the picture is of a very high quality. A lot of people are thinking about LCD, LED TV's and not plasma, however with the bigger LCD's and even LED's people can look very plasticky. Therefore I would still reccommend plasma screens and this Panasonic is among the very best.
If you are trying to purchase a top of the range quality TV with crystal clear picture without paying for the huge price, then this is the TV to buy. This TV is future proof technology and if I were to purchase a TV again I would buy this Panasonic again

- There are very few bad points with this TV, so I am looking at very small details! Sound quality is not of the highest of quality, however most sets now require you to have your own sound systems, so there is no difference in this Panasonic or any other brand on the market. Having being a big Sony fan and purchaser, I prefer the ease of use in the Sony menu's, however I suppose I will get used to the menu's on the Panasonic. Again for those with high definition accessories this will not be a problem but the set has only two scart leads and if you have a video and a non HD sky/cable box then thats all you can conect. The connection to a cinema sound system is a bit of a headache as you will not get surround sound by just connecting through the high definition cable. You will require a separate connection, which is a bit of a Panasonic glitch in what is an almost perfect product. But if you can live with these minor details then this is the product to buy.

+ Panasonic TX-P50G10 what can i say, The Best TV EVER, Fantastic Picture, skin tones Spot on, other colours rich and detailed , sound stereo seperation very good on the V-Audio setting consider that the speakers are down firing, Built in FREESAT, and FREEVIEW, this TV is Full HD but unless you input a HD signal in like Sky HD or BlueRay DVD you don't get a HD picture but you will still be inpressed with the qualty of the picture when watching programs from SKY, DVD, FREEVIEW and FREESAT, At the moment there are ony 2 channels on FREESAT that transmit HD Picture, BBC HD, LUXE TV HD, ITV sometimes transmitt programs in HD which u can choose to watch, not sure about FREEVIEW cos me antena is not working, Lots of inputs and suberb for watching movies and sport due to its very fast respons time, if you can aford to spend a bit more, then consider this TV or other Panasonic Models...VERY PLEASED

- None, but the remote could have been designed better for example the Volume and Channel up / down buttons could be placed in the middle near to the OK Selection Button and theres no Picture in Picture

+ I am a 61year old muppet and even I was able to install it and set it up with the built in freeview and freesat. The hand held control is easy to use the te tv guides are very useful to see what is on across all channels.
The quality of the picture is awesome. 1080p and 600 hertz makes a real difference to viewing experience. I previously didn't watch much television but the sheer quality of viewing is simply amazing which makes it unmissable.

- I honestly haven't found anything even irritating yet.

TV Buyers Guide

Manufacturer's Description

Full-HD NeoPDP Models with freesat built-in, Superb Moving Picture Quality and Advanced Networking Capabilities

“freesat” is a digital satellite service that offers free HD (High-definition) TV programmes. With the G10 series, you can enjoy sharp pictures, vivid colours, multi-channel sound, and various services with the interactive contents.

600-Hz technology lets you view superb full-HD motion and still images with 1,080 lines of resolution. For even greater clarity with motion images, Panasonic uses its own unique image-analysis technology. This technology converts the motion in each scene into data, then optimises the sub-field to display fast-action scenes in full-HD resolution. And each frame is displayed for a shorter length of time than in previous systems, to reduce aftereffects.

VIERA incorporate an improved panel production process and the new Real Black Drive system. A pre-discharge control system, the Real Black Drive system combines with NeoPDP technology to achieve next-generation black reproduction. When you’re watching movies, VIERA renders images just the way the director intended, even in scenes where it’s difficult to achieve a proper balance of light and dark.

VIERA Link allows interconnected operation of various AV devices using only the VIERA remote control, by simply connecting the devices to each other by an HDMI cable. VIERA Link performance has been further enhanced with LUMIX digital camera connection. By connecting a new LUMIX camera that has an HDMI output terminal to VIERA, you can use the VIERA remote to control the playback of images stored on the camera.

It’s easy to view full-HD images with the SD Memory Card slot. Watch and show your photos and motion images right after you take them. Simply insert an SD Memory Card into VIERA to display photos and full-HD videos on the large screen. You can also choose from among 3 types of background music and 4 display effects.

V-Audio Surround gives depth-sound-image effect by early-reflection data based on actual room measurement, that is generated from digital signal processor.
