+ Excellent TV - took my time before commiting to LCD/Plasma. Had CRT which seemed to have superior picture quality. However, I have been very impressed with Panasonic G10 series. Has everything I want and great picture quality. Also, has each turn off switch at front, rather than leaving on standby which my last TV did for 10 years.

- Havent found any yet, need a sound system. Hopefully, that will attach easily.

+ Excellent picture quality

- Not much bass in the sound as turning the bass up too high causes the sound to distort. Best to use this TV with separate sound system.

+ the picture ,design and stand size all help to making living with a 46" tv in a smallish room bearable. the panel is bright and enjoyable to watch,my previous tv a 46" lcd was nowwhere near as good in any way.

- sound could be better but I have had 4 flat panel tvs and none of them have had what could be called even"good" sound.

+ Great picture, great to have the built-in FreeSat. HD looks great hopefully there will be more HD channels soon. Sound is ok but will be investing in surround sound.

- Slightly annoying that it is slightly slow getting to its programme guide, two screens to go through, one click would be better

Expert reviews for Panasonic TX-P46G10

TechRadar expert review

Conventional wisdom ‚Äì of the pro-LCD persuasion, at any rate ‚Äì holds that plasma requires far more power than liquid crystal. Panasonic is out to contradict this theory with its latest generation of NeoPDP gas flatscreens with the introduction of the TX-P46G10. The manufacturer has taken a 'year zero' approach with its new panels, developing new structural techniques and control systems, new phosphors, new drive systems, and new cell designs with enhanced discharge efficiency. All these factors result in a huge claimed power saving of 50 per cent versus the company's conventional s…

TV Buyers Guide

Manufacturer's Description

New Generation Full HD Plasma TV with freesat built-in, Superb Moving Picture Quality and Advanced Networking Capabilities

“freesat” is a digital satellite service that offers free HD (High-definition) TV programmes. With the G10 series, you can enjoy sharp pictures, vivid colours, multi-channel sound, and various services with the interactive contents.

600-Hz technology lets you view superb full-HD motion and still images with 1,080 lines of resolution. For even greater clarity with motion images, Panasonic uses its own unique image-analysis technology. This technology converts the motion in each scene into data, then optimises the sub-field to display fast-action scenes in full-HD resolution. And each frame is displayed for a shorter length of time than in previous systems, to reduce aftereffects.

VIERA incorporate an improved panel production process and the new Real Black Drive system. A pre-discharge control system, the Real Black Drive system combines with NeoPDP technology to achieve next-generation black reproduction. When you’re watching movies, VIERA renders images just the way the director intended, even in scenes where it’s difficult to achieve a proper balance of light and dark.

VIERA Link allows interconnected operation of various AV devices using only the VIERA remote control, by simply connecting the devices to each other by an HDMI cable. VIERA Link performance has been further enhanced with LUMIX digital camera connection. By connecting a new LUMIX camera that has an HDMI output terminal to VIERA, you can use the VIERA remote to control the playback of images stored on the camera.

It’s easy to view full-HD images with the SD Memory Card slot. Watch and show your photos and motion images right after you take them. Simply insert an SD Memory Card into VIERA to display photos and full-HD videos on the large screen. You can also choose from among 3 types of background music and 4 display effects.

V-Audio Surround gives depth-sound-image effect by early-reflection data based on actual room measurement, that is generated from digital signal processor.
