Excellent HD picture quality. The set itself is easy to set up and easy to use. Blueray playback is a dramatic step in quality and detail up from my previous 6 year old Panasonic combination. I have a larger Pioneer Kuro which I will still use for special film viewings with the family. I'm still convinced that, in general, plasma gives a better picture quality overall, but having said that the Kuro picture now looks noticeably less detailed by comparison and is less bright, so it is a different type of experience.
The set looks stylish and strangely inobtrusive sitting in the corner, perhaps as it is so slim, even though it is much larger than the set it replaced.
I haven't watched much sport yet, so can't comment on this. As I recall, my previous Panasonic LCD TV needed quite a long run in period before sports pictures (football etc) looked 'right'.
Strangely, black and white pictures like old WW2 footage were transformed - incredible and more lifelike. I was enthralled the first time I saw this. That's almost worth the money alone. - Bad points:

Not blown away by the 3D and I can see the shutter on the glasses spinning. Very distracting. I haven't tried 3D animation yet, which might give a better experience.
The internet connection is very slow, but I don't need to use it - don't want to use it with small children in the house anyway.

The display alternately shows images for the left and right eyes. The left and right lenses of the eyewear open and close in sync with this display timing to show separate images to the left and right eyes. By repeating this action at high speed, the brain perceives 3D images. And because this method displays FULL HD 3D images just as they are, both eyes receive 3D images in high, full-HD quality.
In addition to increasing the generated frames from 50 to 200 frames per second, backlight control has evolved through area splitting. The backlight’s fine blinking reduces afterimages, to produce smooth, fast movements without blurring. Sports scenes, action scenes and other fast-motion images are crisp and clear.
Deep black expression is made possible by a new filter that suppresses external reflections. A new backlight area control technology also divides the display into 16 portions and provides more detailed brightness control to produce images with stronger contrast. Night skies are crisp with deep shades of black, and the surfaces of nighttime lakes and seas are vibrant and detailed.
VIERA Connect allows users to enjoy video and music, sports, games, and a variety of other content in addition to the standard movies and TV programmes on a high-quality large-screen TV through the simple operation of a remote control. The cloud-based Internet service also supports interactive services using applicable equipment as well as an Internet-based shopping function that allows such equipment to be purchased straight from the TV.
The browser supports HTML5 pages, so you can browse the Internet much like you do with a PC. Unlike a PC, though, the large screen allows the whole family or a group of friends to comfortably view a wide variety of content.
