Panasonic TX-L26X10 Reviews: Viera, 26" Screen LCD HD Ready TV

+ It found all the channels & set itelf up automatically within a few minutes of being switched on. Standard definition picture quality is very detailed with the whites very white & the blacks very black and the colours are excellent. I have not tried the HDMI inputs but the picture from my Humax 9200 through scart look just as good and even the picture from my ancient VCR looks better than expected

- Sound is rather hollow. You need to connect it to your HiFI etc to get good sound. Like other new TVs you cannot directly connect external speakers as I could with my previous 18 year old CRT set. You need to delve around in the menus to switch on the Eco mode which is not switched on in the default settings. Sometimes faces look too smooth & over processed & maybe blacks & whites a bit too extreme but I am still experimenting with the settings.

+ Excellent picture & sound. Does exactly what a TV should do and does it well. It's NEVER locked up unlike the cheap digiboxes.

- The remote control is cramped with redundant buttons for controlling Panasonic accessories - not much use if you've not got panasonic DVD/PVR/etc. The TV stops playing while viewing the channel guide. The channel guide has an unwanted Panasonic advert window wasting space - what's this all about?. It would have been better to kep playing the current channel.

+ Effortless installation. Great picture/sound even without rooftop aerial and easy to use.

- None other than price of Panasonic Viera - but in this case, you get what you pay for.

+ Very responsive to the remote (does not even require line of sight), speedy day planner. Includes analog as well as digital receiver so picks up my old video player and the rf output from a sky box, goood range of inputs

- Although a flat screen the back is a little bulky. Seen TVs a lot slimmer but liked this one for the picture and sound quality which is what I guess counts
