+ A very stylish television with an excellent picture and good sound

- Although the TV is simple to set up on installation, it does not default to the Sky box. The instructions give no guidance on how to overcome this.
The shiny black surround to the screen would be improved if it were a matt finish.
These are obviously small defects in the overall package.

+ Easy set up, No nonsense remote. HD quality is 1st class. SD quality very good. Combine with a HD games console and Bluray player for maximum results

- SD fast moving sport is not as good as on a CRT. Not really panasonics fault just not enough HD channels at the moment. Headphone jack would be better placed underneath the front and not on the side.

+ This is the first wide screen TV I have had, and I have not seen many others, so it is difficult to compare. Nice picture and my brother said it was better than his set! I like the large buttons on the remote. Very easy initial set up. Instruction booklet clear, although I have not had time to explore it fully. Very happy with it.

- I cannot get ITV1 on digital and unsure exactly how to do that. Analogue only, although it is not a major problem. Slight loss of picture clarity on fast moving pictures (e.g. football). Not too many others.

Expert reviews for Panasonic TX-32LZD80

TechRadar expert review

Despite being one of the few brands left that still deal in both plasma and LCD technology, it's doubly hard for us to make comparisons with last season's crop of Panasonic LCD TVs when it comes to the TX-32LZD80. This 32in LCD TV, you see, is a totally different beast to before. Sporting a Full HD resolution, it is one of few 32in such screens currently on sale in the UK and Panasonic's Ô¨Årst... But forgive us for being a tad cynical. Full HD resolution is best viewed on screens much bigger than a paltry 32in. The huge 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution ‚Äì a hi-def format found on Blu-ray…

TV Buyers Guide

Manufacturer's Description

Full-HD Model with Superb Image Quality, Wide Viewing Angle, and Extensive Network Functions with Easy Operation

Images are beautiful even when viewers are sitting at an angle to the TV. The IPS Alpha panel has a wide viewing angle, so the images are crisp and clear even when viewed from an angle. The same high-quality images can be enjoyed from any place in the living room.

You can enjoy the beautiful cinematic reproduction of movie images. The images that are recorded onto movie film at 24 frames per second (fps) are reproduced at two times that speed by 24p Playback. This achieves film-like reproduction than with the 2:3 processing method.

This kind of expressive power will thrill science-fiction fans even dark scenes are elaborately detailed. Improved panel contrast combines with the I.S.C.(Intelligent Scene Controller) to achieve a high, 10,000:1* contrast ratio. *Dynamic mode only

In addition to brilliant picture quality, VIERA models offer the easy operation made possible by VIERA Link and the SD card slot. VIERA Link lets you operate other connected Panasonic AV components using only the VIERA TV’s remote control unit. The majority of the VIERA line-up is equipped with a slot for large-capacity SDHC cards. You can view a slideshow of your photos on VIERA’s big beautiful screen just by simply remove the SD memory card from your digital still camera, and slip it in to the slot.
