- When I was looking at camcorders this jumped out as being one of the only models on the market that had a shoe for external equipment. This and the other great specs meant that this model was the one to purchase.
- Bad points:
- The only slight issue I would have is the menu system. The buttons are small on the touch screen and I found it little tricky to navigate.

Colours are as good as or better than my previous 3-sensor Standard Defintion camera which has great colours. I was worried going back to a single sensor would result in those rather drab-looking images so common on 1-sensor SD cameras.
Full 1080p at 50 fps so no worries about interlacing artifacts when playing back on a digital TV (as 99% of users will)
Uses SD cards so no need to worry about an internal HDD breaking
There is no simple exposure compensation as found on most digital still cameras.
Backlight compensation is buried in a menu when it should be much easier to get at.
Comes with an old style composite AV cable that can't display Full HD. Who is actually going to use this? Surely it would be cheaper for Panasonic to bundle a short HDMI cable?
