The Panasonic HDC-SD80 has many features that make it stand out in the crowd. The camera boasts an Intelligent 42x Zoom Shooting/33.7mm Wide-Angle, an Optical Image Stabaliser that detects subtle movement and corrects it optically in the lens and electronically in the sensor. A Zoom mic and Wind Noise Canceller, intelligent auto with Face Recognition and the option to record to SDXC/SDHC/SD memory card.

42x Intelligent Zoom
This clever mode extends the zoom range from 37x to 42x with very little degradation of image quality, thanks to the processing power of the Crystal Engine Pro. Also includes a 33.7mm equivalent wide angle setting which is useful for indoors and large groups like parties.

Hybrid O.I.S.
Combines Optical and Electronic image stabilisation to correct varying degrees of camera movement. The electronic part uses the normally unused sensor area outside the image when zooming in.

Zoom Mic
This feature synchronises the narrowing of the angle both for image and sound, as you zoom in. This reduces ambient noise to around a third of what it would otherwise be. Also has an electronic Wind Noise Canceller to cut out wind whilst keeping the other sounds crystal clear.
