Good points:: Brilliant picture quality wether from DVD or Freeview, good menu system, DVD-RAM is a godsend - especially when the phone rings. Simply start recording, and when you've finished on the phone, press the play button and carry on where you left off whilst still recording. If you've got young kids (as I have) this is a wonderful feature as you can record whilst you're putting them to bed knowing that you don't have to wait until the programme has finished before you can start watching it. All in all - excellent - so good in fact that I have bought one for my daughter and my mother-in-law bought one having seen ours and liking it so much! We were concidering a hard disc based recorder, but none of them seem to be reliable enough, hence we bought this instead.
Bad points:: Just one or two niggles really; you can't schedule a programme to WATCH later, only to record it. And I can't make it copy from the SD card slot to a DVD - it tells me to to format the disc and when I have done that and then try to copy, it says it can't because the disc is formatted!!!!

Good points:: Very easy to use, good programming, and good pictures and sound
Bad points:: 1,Its rather bulky,2, maybe a little slow in response to instructions. the rear connections leave little room at the back of a tv cabinet.

Multi format disks.
Pass though RGB even when in standby.
Bad points:: jpeg viewing is poor quality.(Downscaled to 576 before upscale to HDMI)
