+ User friendly set up.
Extra features explained well in the manual.
Excellent picture and sound out.
Extra Blue Ray content (BD Live) accessed by connecting to my home router. (LAN cable required)

- No HDMI lead provided. I understand that this is common for Blue Ray Players, but why? as HDMI is the preferred connection.

+ Love the picture and sound quality. Sounds great with both analogue AV receivers and HDMI compatible ones.

- Purely aesthetic, but it just looks a bit angular and plain on the front in a way that reminds me of early 90s VCRs! Likewise with the remote - just feels a bit big. Not very elegant.

+ The only reason I didn't give the image quality and overall rating 10's is this is the first Blu ray player I've owned and not had anything to compare it against. Overall I am very happy with it. The image quality and sound is amazing. Crystal clear picture when played at 1080p through my full HD tv and fantastic sound when played through 5.1 system.
Set up was easy. Took me less than 10 minutes from opening the box to playing a film.
Has an ethernet port for connecting to the internat for firmware updates and BD Live which is very handy.

- No coaxial output. Power and eject buttons are on the top of the unit. Other than that no bad points for me.

+ Great picture and sound for a budget price. Nothing better on the market at the moment. Fairly easy set-up even with a JVC TV. Overall a great purchase.

- Picture size controls particularly on widescreen discs can be a struggle.

Expert reviews for Panasonic DMP-BD35

TechRadar expert review

The Panasonic DMP-BD35 supersedes the ProÔ¨Åle 1.1-capable DMP-BD30 upgrading the spec to include full BD Live support and shaving around ¬£50 off the price in the process. It's joined by the step-up DMP-BD55, which adds more advanced audio circuitry and 7.1-channel analogue outputs to the BD35's already enviable feature list.Unbelievably slim deckAt 49mm high, it's the world's slimmest Blu-ray player, and very attractive it is, too, with an understated all-black Ô¨Ånish and a small but legible display panel on the left-hand side. But the most significant front-panel feature is the SD …

Pocket Lint expert review

Back when Blu-ray was just a twinkle in its creator’s eye, there was much talk about BD Live and how it would revolutionise the way we watch movies, but little did we know that there would be an arduous 2-year wait for the idea to come to fruition. But now, we’re finally seeing the first BD Live capable decks come through, and it was Panasonic that got the ball rolling back in July with its brilliant DMP-BD50...
