- not having a back up cd rom supplied although creating your own is fairly simple.

+ Very fast, great CPU. Has everything i need. Easy to setup. Great value.

- Would of been 10/10 but, Case, DVD/DVD RW tray and Buttons feel a bit cheap. Comes with Windows Vista, so some Hardware drivers, Sound cards, Midi controllers, ect, need updating.

+ Compact, attractive design, user friendly, powerful, perfect for the average silver surfer & home user. Makes short work of graphics & photo editing

- The rear mounted audio connections for a sound system does not appear to accept lowly stereo speakers, these have to be plugged in to the front of the tower, resulting in an untidy cable permanently hanging about

- States it comes with a firewire port but in fact does not.

Lots of RAM and fast processor - but see Bad Points below which negate this benefit.

- Flimsy doors over optical drives - one broken in first few weeks. Woefully inadequate power supply (250W). Can only just cope as it is and don't even dream of adding in anything extra (2nd hard drive, graphics card etc) without first getting a bigger power supply. I have an older version of Microsoft Office I wanted to instal, but the 60 day trial version of Office won't let me. I don't want this trial version but I can't get rid of it. This is really annoying! It desperately needs better graphics to run Vista. In fact vista is far too bloated and this machine should come with either XP or a downgrade/upgrade (difficult to know what it is) to XP or windows 7. I'm so fed up with Vista that I've switched to Linux. The memory card readers on the front panel don't seem to work - they just make the entire system freeze up solid. I thought that by buying this machine I would get a much more powerful computer - but Vista slows it down so it's no better than my old one.

- A lot of give in the VGA port so it was difficult to attach monitor lead. I didn't want to push too hard for fear of VGA port disappearing into the case! I returned the pc but it wasn't faulty - this is just a rather serious design fault!

+ A quad Intel for this money is great value.

- Graphics card is not amazing if you're worried about that. Vista is pre-loaded but you will need to do your own back-up for the operating system cos you are not provided with a copy. In-built speakers on the monitor are poor.

- The supposed 60 day trial version of Word 2007 locked me out after around 30 days as I was using it, had to panic and run out to buy a licence, felt cheated and badly let down.
The DVD drive caddy and door is flimsy, need to take care.

+ The packard Bell x2416 is a great pc. Great cpu & great Ram 4 GB 667 mhz (which I have upgraded to 800mhz).The pc is value for money.With it's PCI EXPRESS 2.0 slot you have the choice to install high end graphic cards.

- The only thing that is bad about this pc is when installing a high end graphic card the sata connections are in the way.So you have to be clever to work out how you are going to install the graphic card.

+ easy to buy. fast delivery. nice key board. very quiet.

- card reader does not work-i still have to plug in my ext card reader via one of the usb ports. not that quick. i was expecting lightening from a quad processor but it seems not quicker than the cheap 8 year old machine it replaced. i probably could have got the same ererday performance from something that cost half as much.

+ Excellent to set up this has to be the easiest computer to set up ever. Took me just one hour to transfer all data from old computer and get connected to internet via wireless router, so very impressed as I had set aside half a day!!

- I know this is standard with the majority of desktops now but no windows discs provided and would have been handy in case full restore needed. Also would have been better if came with office as there is no wordpad that we can find on Vista and our copy of office is xp edition and won't work with vista so I was unable to type even a basic letter (2 very small moans but all I could come up with!!!)
