Score 10.0/10+ This camera is so easy to use, it takes very good quality pictures. I bought this for my daughter as she would like to become a photographer when finishing school so this is a start for her. In the future we can add on more lens's for her.
- I have nothing bad to say regarding this camera

Score 8.0/10+ Easy to handle in automatic mode, a little fiddly when using the manual override functions but reasonably straightforward as experience in use gained.
- No particularly bad points, so far well impressed with the camera.

Score 9.0/10+ Solid body, easy simple use for quick shots
- Features will take a long time to memorise. USB cable flap a bit flimsy

Score 9.0/10+ Light, manual settings, great picture quality,

Unattractive- why can't they do like Leica and model their DSLRs on old models? The OM-1 I have (and use the lenses from on this) would look far better as a case for this than the black molded plastic...
The kit lens isn't great, and the autofocus is slow to lock on in low light

Score 9.0/10+ Fantastic picture quality, built like a brick and the functions are easy enough to use.
- Hard to get to grips with the focus

Score 9.0/10+ Its light weight, simple to use, has easy to understand features that help to improve your expertise which results in better quality pictures. I bought mine specifically for pictures when i'm up mountains or cycling so i wanted something that would pack easily into a bag but had that extra quality to give good representation of landscapes, capturing the dramatic nature of the environment.
- The grip would be difficult if you have fat hands.

Score 9.0/10+ Compact size and light weight
- Far to many features, most of which will never be required. Instruction manual difficult to follow for someone who has no digital camera experience.

Score 9.0/10+ The world's smallest Digital SLR, but it's still reassuringly chuncky. Easy to use with lots of features. Indoor images will certainly impress if you're used to a point and shoot. Handles lighting more accurately. Starts up nalmost immediately. Unlike it's rivals at this price, it also comes with Live View so you can 'see' the image before it's taken. Comes with a training DVD - very helpful. You can buy many accessories off Ebay, such as filters and screen protectors. This is pretty much the same camera as the more expensive Olympus models but at a cheaper price, so a bargin.
- No image stablization, but quite frankly I don't need it. You can change the shutter speed and ISO settings to limit camera shake in most conditions, even indoor without a flash. Probably more use on a point and shoot where you can't adjust shutter speed.

Score 9.0/10+ Really good compact dslr ideal for anyone who wants a good camera without the bulk
- no image stabilisation, however, I haven't really missed that, as the lens does let in a good deal of light.

The latest addition to the Olympus E-System, the E-420, represents a winning formula for both seasoned photographers and entrants to the D-SLR domain alike. Users benefit from the remarkable quality only D-SLR photography can deliver, yet also enjoy the ease of use usually only associated with a compact camera. This includes Live View depictions on the LCD, which can significantly simplify image composition. In addition, as one of the world’s smallest and lightest D-SLRs, mobility is hardly an issue. The E-420 will fit just about anywhere – from a small daypack to a lady’s handbag. This makes it a perfect companion for journalists, travellers or other adventurers who appreciate the one-of-a-kind portability, performance and value for money it delivers. The easy-to-use 10.0 Megapixel E-420 features 28 shooting modes to suit a multitude of photographic situations and is ready to use straight out of the box. It will be available in stores from late April 2008.
