Score 8.0/10+ It does what it says on the tin - a one-stop shop for virus protection, plus spyware protection, plus some nice features like backup and auto sign-in to your frequent sites, e.g. your email account. It is also quicker on startup than previous Norton products.
- It still slows you down on log on, but that's the price you pay for protection!

+ Sells itself as an all round (360) product providing Anti-virus, Firewall, Network protection with parental control, Back-ups etc for Windows XP and Vista. Easy to install. Gives me the user - id specific parental protection I was looking for.
- Installation and subsequent running of anti-virus part of s/w corrupted the file system on my C: drive making the PC un-bootable and losing all my data. PC and OS met the requirements stated on the s/w. Norton support claim this is due to a pre-existing problem on my PC (which prior to Norton 360 was 'protected' from such by Norton's internet security package and was working fine). I would not recommend that this product is installed on any PC that has connected to the internet. It probably works fine when installed on top of a 'clean' OS install. I will find out, as I have had to re-build my PC using the original XP OS restore disks and have upgraded to Vista before re-installing Norton 360. As it was bought to provide protection on a home PC and my sons 2 laptops (again to be installed on top of a clean OS install) I have to hope it is better at preventing corruption than dealing with something benign it treats as a virus. And that Norton are better at dealing with any subsequent issues where they have no 'excuse' (prior corruption) to fall back on. I hope (rather than expect) not to find out.
