+ Some great balance games on the wii fit.

- I don't like the way you have to select a new exercise every time, being able to choose a routine that flows into the next would be more like a gym/yoga workout and I feel would be more enjoyable. When in dual mode it would be nice to pick a player rather than the wii and then their statstics would come up at the end as well as yours.

- DIDN'T LIKE BEING FORCED TO BUY AS A PACKAGE, YOU APPARENTLY WERE OUT OF STOCK OF WII FIT'S AND WOULD ONLY SELL AS A PACKAGE?????. VERY UNFAIR, AND IT WASN'T ANY CHEAPER BUYING THIS BUNDLE THAN BUYING THE GAMES AND FIT SEPERATE!
ONLY DID THIS AS A LAST RESULT, BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT MY DAUGHTER TO BE DISSAPOINTED ON HER BIRTHDAY!!!

+ Great fun to use, gets you doing exercise every day but doesn't feel like you are working out. The games are great especially all the balance work.

- It's a shame you have to exercise on your own, it would be more fun if you could use more than one Wii Fit at the same time, so you could exercise with a partner, or compete against a real person in the races.

- Doing the exercise's one at a time as this can be pretty boring if you are having to watch and wait for someone to finish before you can get on.

+ Good family fun, good exercise.

- The BMI indicator is not a good guide to health. Not sure how someone who has issues with their weight would take to being called obese and thier Mii bloating up to look really fat. The BMI goes purley on height and weight and does not take into consideration anything else. So anyone with a bit of muscle on them is likely to come up as overweight. I am 5' 9" and weigh 13st 10 pounds, i do a lot of weightlifting and have defined muscles yet the Wii tells me i'm overweight and need to lose 2Stone!! If i lost two stone i'd look ill.

It would have got a 10 for design but the men found it too narrow for their shoulders when attempting push ups.

- When swapping from one person to another we had to go back and forth through the menus. A waste of time and we all lost patience with this.

+ As long as you don't expect the Wii Fit to be a serious exercise tool then you won't be disappointed. It's fun and I was quite impressed at how well it reflects your balance and posture (or lack of it) as the case may be. You can compete against family and friends and all have a laugh and its easy enough for the kids to do so it's a really good family game.

- I bought Ubisofts Fitness Coach first, because at the time I couldn't get hold of a Wii Fit at a reasonable price. For me there is no comparison. For fitness training, the Wii Fit has very limited effect. Above all it's a game and shouldn't be taken too seriously, if you're hoping to lose weight and hone and tone your muscles - forget it. I don't like the fact that you can't wear trainers and have to do it all in bare feet. After a while the balance board starts to make the soles of the feet sore and unless you're exercising in bare feet on a regular basis you soon start to feel the strain on your ankles and tendons in the feet.

- Relies on your own knowledge for things like form when doing muscular exercises (too easy to cheat). Aerobic exercises won't get you breathless. Some of the exercises are just games and probably won't contribute to fitness greatly, but are fun anyway.

+ anything that gets me doing exercise is a good thing! keeps me motivated. many of the exercises, in particular the balance exercises, don't feel like you are actually exercising but after a week I could feel the difference in my stomach, felt like I'd been doing sit ups! the more you do, the more games and levels you unlock, so you are constantly challenged. can vary what you do as much as you want - easy to build up your own programme.

- music on the step aerobics is awful!!! I've also found the muscle workouts in particular are difficult to follow and take too long to do a straightforward exercise, so I tend to stick with the balance and aerobic games.

+ Easy and straight forward to use, suitable for a wide age range and just really great fun.

- Having quite a large room to use it in is preferable, it could be harder to fully concentrate on some of the games in cramped conditions if you have to be more aware of your surroundings eg: not bumping into things .

+ Allows you to keep track of your weight etc and focuses you If you want to improve your physical attributes, whether it be weight loss, muscle tone or balance.

- The work outs are all seperate and to do a full work out the time spent loading each activity is too long. I tend to use It to keep track of weight, instead of using it for the activities, making it a expensive set of scales.

+ The graphics are good and the wii fit really does work

- On the wii fit game you cant do all the excercises at once, and you have to put up with all the talking inbetween and they tend to repeat themselves.

+ The Wii Fit balance board itself, and Wii fit disk. .

- Didn't really want the other games. The "bundled" 2 games, deBlob and some sports game - don't think it's written by Nintendo - certainly doesn't feel like it - just not intuitive, doesn't use the created Wii's - I just turned off straight away.
Bought the package as the Wii Fit board was so hard to get hold of, and this was how i could get it.

Manufacturer's Description

What is Wii Fit

Wii Fit is a combination of fitness and fun, designed for everyone, young and old. By playing Wii Fit a little every day, you, your friends, and your family can work towards personal goals of better health and fitness.

Wii Balance Board

The Wii Balance Board™ accessory was created from the ground up to work with Wii Fit. It’s an innovative peripheral for Wii that’s simple, fun, and it’s a great way to get you off of the couch and into the action. The Wii Balance Board is more than just a scale —it can read your real-life movements and bring them to life on screen, just like the Wii Remote™ controller. Realistically snowboard down a mountain or walk a tight rope—it’s just one more way to get into the game.

Charting Your Progress

Check your daily progress in Wii Fit with easy-to-understand charts and graphs. The orange line you see in the center of the graph represents your BMI the first time you checked it. From then on, it’s easy to tell how you’ve done since you started using Wii Fit. You can also set goals, check your Wii Fit Age, and even enter exercise time you’ve done outside of Wii Fit.

All About Balance

Your center of balance, the point between your left and right sides when you are standing upright, has a lot to do with your health. Those without an even center of balance will be unnaturally compensating for this imbalance, which causes their posture to become misaligned, increasing the possibility of putting unnecessary strain on their body. Wii Fit can help you learn more about your balance, and give you tips on how to improve it.

Trial Mode

Trial mode is available for anyone who wants to try out Wii Fit, without the commitment of creating a new profile. You can quickly determine a new user’s Wii Fit Age, or have them engage in one of 15 different fun exercises. Your friends can use Trial Mode if they want to try Wii Fit.

Wii Fit Channel

With Wii Fit, you can install a channel in the Wii Menu so that you can perform a Body Test and view your graph without having to insert the Wii Fit Game Disc. For example, if you happen to have the Wii Sports™ Game Disc in the Wii console, you can still check your weight via the Wii Fit Channel without switching games.
