The cameras low light performance is stupendous, it's entirely usable to 3200, and 6400 isn't even too bad for noise.
The camera is very sturdy, feels very solid in the hand. Ergonomics very good, and controls generally intuitive.
The range of the lens is very nice, shame it isn't very sharp.

The lens isn't all that sharp, and will be replaced as soon as I can afford it.
Lengthy menus (though only to be expected).

John, Chesterfield , “Careful with his money”
Score 10.0/10+ This is a very excellent camera, the quality of the pictures it takes are outstanding, you can enlarge them huge amounts before you get any noise. It does everything Nikon say it will doe, and I suspect more they have not said. I find adjusting setting very logical, and with practice I think you should be able to do on the fly.If you are looking to go digital, or from compact and have not already another make of SLR with lenses, but have the cash this is the one to get, it just does not disappoint, if it does its you that has made a mistake, its that good. but it is a lot of money, but so are the prices of the opposition. For when I got it out of its box and started use it, it just had that wow factor, and most importantly you can see where your money has gone, where the others did not do that for me.
- Mainly its cost, weight, and the vertical learning curve in getting to know all the different setting etc etc

Score 10.0/10+ Well built as expected from Nikon. Quality of photos is superb and above all the controls are well placed where you expect them to be.
- No bad points found yet... but I don't think I will find any!
