Good points:: Worked first time.
Bad points:: Needs additional configuration and reading the small print on the labels (means unplugging) to be properly secure as other houses on the same street may be able to connect if they're on the same electrical phase.

Good points:: I get an average of ~140 Mbps of the advertised 200 Mbps, but thats still easily enough for streaming video to a (living room) media PC, or for online HD console gaming. Easy to set up & use, and a vast improvement in speed & reliability upon wireless-g for internet browsing & data transfer.
Bad points:: Expensive, and dependent upon your PC's LAN Controller speed to realise full benefits (Gigabit LAN controller required). Performance is dependent upon your home wiring, and can vary with distance between adaptors / PC's. XCan coexist with, but is not interoperable with other Netgear Powerline models. No ethernet switch versions available for HD model. HDX103 / 104 (85 Mbps - can be mixed on the network) may be a more cost effective solution where you don't need the speed, available sockets are limited, or you have a number of devices in athe same location.
