Miele W 3240 reviews: Front Loading loading, 6kg capacity washing machine

+ This washing machine is very quiet, even on its highest spin spead. It is very efficient at spinning out excess water on its highest spin cycle and has reduced tumble drying time by approximately 30-40%, so a plus for the environmentally minded. Washing efficiency appears very good and energy expenditure per wash is clearly illustrated in the user guide, again good for those customers wishing to be environmentally friendly

- There are too many lighter loads options than heavier load options. For example, there are plenty of options for 2-2.5kg loads but not so many for 6 kg loads. With a large family most of my washing loads are 6kg

+ Easy to use, thorough cleaning, garments etc left in good condition due to honeycomb lining of drum

- Can't use spin drying facility separately for a v. short spin , 8 minutes is shortest available

- I found the rinse-hold a little difficult to get used to after my previous machine. Also, it is very heavy, which makes moving it for cleaning almost impossible. (However I appreciate that this is partly also a good point, in that it results from the fact that it is very solid, stable and quiet.)

+ able to increase water level on wash and rinse. Able to see how much time of wash is left and what stage the wash programme has reached. Able to pre wash and/or soak without having to reset for main wash.

- Have not found any yet, I am so pleased with this machine, it's worth every penny.

+ I love it to bits. Went out and bought a Miele vacuum cleaner on the strength of it. It's so quiet that when I first had it I kept going to check that it was still working. It's amazingly easy to use, and although I wasn't looking for extra functions originally, I find that I use them all the time. It washes and spins brilliantly - I really don't have any negative feelings about it at all. Am now saving up for a Miele dishwasher . . .
