+ It's easy to upgrade your PC from Windows XP to Vista. Microsoft Vista is much more reliable than Windows XP.

- Microsoft state that RAM of 512MB is a minimum requirement for the installation of Vista. I would suggest that this should be 1GB in order for the operating system to work as efficiently as Windows XP.

+ Far more pleasant/fun to use than I had expected!! The interface is very slick and fast - at least in the early days, time will tell. I loved the speech recognition and tablet routines built in, excellent.

- Vista STILL suffers from poor response from the industry to updated drivers. Microsoft changed too much at once I think.

+ It look nice in the box!

- I have had constant crashes and problems with Vista. Ive already had to reinstall it twice in 1 month! Everyone should wait for Windows 7.

+ Beautiful system to look at, lots of features that could be useful. Allows to veiw more things easily without going into the depths of the pc.
At first glance it did have the wow factor.

- getting drivers for it. it asks way too many questions instead of allowing me to make the decisions may self, it has proved that difficult to get drivers and to get them to work, i have removed vista from my pc. I am Hoping in six months time when everything catches up that i can once again try to install and be able to use it to its full potential. Only suitable for people with broadband, and it only seams to like the best components which could prove expensive for some people.

+ Nice and flashy. Good graphics on desktop and windows. Love the apps in windows plus.

- This is the second version of Vista I have purchased. The first kept failing after 3 months. The regular updated stuff was not identify with the old pre-established drivers and communication pathways. effectively reducing me to buy this new version which has already had HSS pathway issues. Ridiculous!! Next time I'll buy a Mac as nobody I know has any problems with their OS. It chews up so much of my CPU, effectively slowing my 2.5gHz. ;(

+ As the successor to XP I really appreciate the properties in Vista. The 'Aero' feature and system performance features are helpfull. The search is also easier.

- Like most O/S it is easy to get carried away when installing for the forst time, especially if you want to vreate a RAID set-up. This also lies in-part to the mobo manufacturers whose instructions are in some cases patchy.

+ 1.Very easy to set up.
2. visualy good.
3. Works smoothly.

- 1. 64bit version doesnt support 32bit drivers for most products. PnP support inside windows doesnt seem to work well with known existing Hardware. Ie; Graphics crad drivers are still being written for most Nvidia & ATI cards. Its just a case of waiting until Major Market leaders of hardware writes Vista drivers.

+ Visually its miles better than anything before it, also its a hell of a lot easier to find what your looking for, and its ultra stable

- i have 4GB of memmory and it hogs over 1GB of this just for windows without anything else running, at times it runs really slow especially when multi tasking

If you're not familiar with Microsoft Windows Vista's own disk management tools, don't beat yourself up over it. They're not exactly lying around the desktop in plain sight. But they are worth checking out.
