+ Setup was very simple
Seems faster but that might be the because it was a fresh install, time will tell.
If you are buying a new PC with a choice of Windows 7 or Vista choose Windows 7, it's Vista service pack 3 but at a price.

- Just looks and works as if it is Vista as Vista should have been, so I feel as if I have paid twice for the same product.

+ Has a very nice feel to it. Looks great and runs smoothly.

- Some minor bugs. Having probs with my wireless network card and sometimes, even when hard wired, internet won't connect unless I delete connection and reinstall network connection.

+ Very fast startup and shutdown, includes IE8, worked far better after a completely clean install. no more constant vista crashes, though i was told it really wasn't necessary I installed an extra 500mb of ram making 1.5gb this really helped it to run a lot smoother.

- Price, this should have been a free upgrade as compensation to all the people who have previously purchased and had to suffer the woes of Vista.

+ its better than any previous OS simply because it runs really great (64bit) and offers excellent compatibility.

- the WEI is an unnecessary feature, not really a bad point but all I can think of tbh.

+ Easiest version of Windows I've ever installed (I've installed Win95, 98 and XP previously). It found all the drivers for my laptop automatically apart from the in built card reader drivers but these were readily available as vista drivers from laptop maker's website (HP) Much much better than Vista which was originally on my laptop. Laptop runs much more smoothly, and as I installed the 64 bit version (both 32 bit and 64 bit were supplied) Windows is able to use all of my 4Gb RAM and not limited to about 3GB like the 32 bit Vista previously on the laptop

- Still has User Account control like Vista which doesn't remember which programs you deem safe to allow to run.
Some compatibilty problems with old software which worked fine under Vista but refusing to run under Win 7. I use Acronis True Image 10 as a backup. This was fine under Vista but doesn't run under Win 7. However Win 7 Home Premium does have in built disc imaging software.

+ Faster operating system, have improved user interface

- Install not 100% smooth, ?enough improvements to give value for money.
Though would have paid that much to improve speed of vista on laptop!
