Some customer reviews of Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64bit, SP1, English, 1 Pack)

Most helpful reviews

Keith, Mirfield Happy Windows 7 user

Score 10.0/10
Good points:
An excellent upgrade for XP lovers who don't want the swishy screen function of Windows 8 or the missing Start button. I've never fancied Windows 8 and Windows 10, which is on it's way (there is no 9) will be new and therefore full of bugs to begin with. And of course, buying your own operating system means that you actually have the installation CD to hand if anything goes wrong and that is worth its weight in gold!
Bad points:
Having to get rid of XP if I'm honest, but it is now vulnerable without support from Microsoft...a move which I disagree with...however...onwards and upwards.

Terry, Ely

Score 7.0/10
Good points:
I wanted a version of Windows to load onto my new MacBook Pro so that I could dual boot. This version worked fine, set up is easy and worked first time.
Bad points:
167 upgrades were required. On first attempt installation failed! Had to load and install about 50 updates at a time to get it to work.
Couldn't upgrade Internet Explorer - kept getting "unknown error" so loaded Firefox instead - Microsoft's loss.

Good points:
It work well with games, office software but ...
Bad points:
You paying a lot only for the compatibility with most devices, I am using Linux Ubuntu and iOs too they are better but are not compatible with some things I need to use on a daily basis, because you do not have much choice... at least win 7 is much better than 8, 8.1 , Xp was a great edition but not supported any more. Maybe win 10 will be better - unfortunately business has no option to switch to other OS, win is most popular

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
Very quick to set up on a new build PC.
Far shorter boot times than Vista set up I replaced.
Allows me to use several legacy programmes (which originally I was told would have compatibility issues)
Bad points:
Its Windows - so expensive vs Linux which I also use.
