Score 10.0/10+ Simple, easy and reliable. White goes with most interiors too. No bar underneath to trip over which is especially important at the top of the stairs and easy to carry hoover through!
- Must be screwed to wood door surround or wood bannister NOT wall because with the movement of the gate opening and closing the hole in the wall gets bigger and then loose.

- There is only one way this gate fits together - after about 2 hours of trying ! we then sorted it. But the instructions should tell you there is only one way to put the two halves together. I very nearly send it back to you, but then we realised how to put it together.

- Doesnt fix to the wall well at all. We have found that our older children have difficulty in opening and closing the gate. To be honest you get what you pay for and next time I will definitley be spending a little bit more money.

- I have had this gate about 3 weeks and it is used solely to prevent a puppy going upstairs. One of the metal bars has come away from the welded lower surface and the sprung hinges have broken so that it can no longer be lifted and slid into place. The only way to keep the gate closed now is to tie it with string. This gate was correctly secured to the wall and stair bannister and has been subject to normal use in the last 3 weeks. Not recommended!

- Brackets are too wide to sit neatly against the door stop.
