+ Fab TV and an absolute bargain. We purchased a bracket which again was so easy to fit to this TV. All in all a great buy and I would highly recommend it. We were undecided on whether we should go plasma or LCD but so glad we went plasma!!!

+ Picture quality is excellent on both freeview and dvd's there is a bit of image retention but I believe that lessens with age. Sound quality is excellent. this tv in my oppinion rivals any other 720p tv. not tried any games on it yet.

+ initial set up was quick and straightforward. Pleasing design and useful swivel stand. Someone with a greater technical appreciation of AV equipment would probably not rate the picture and sound quality as highly as I do, but I'm very happy with my purchase.

- I haven't discovered any yet.

+ The produc is good for all round viewing with good picture quality, and easy to use.

- Bad point is that it was heavy to place on the stand. perhaps the stand should already be attached prior to despatch??

+ Picture quality is perfect with the built in Freeview, Freesat box and DVD. Infact picture quality is so good in standard mode(576i) that it is difficult to tell when you have tuned into BBC HD(1080i) on Freesat.

- Freeview menu is a bit of a let down. although I have never used another TV with built in Freeview, so they may all be the same.

+ what it does it does it very well & easily once you figure out what it can do.good value & would recommend buying one.yes you can record sky progs to hard drive & then burn to dvd though sky & LG will tell you otherwise.can`t comment on freeview or tv guide etc as i only use sky for my telly viewing but it easily burns everything once you figure out menu facility.

- remote is a bit slow & could be better almost to point of being "cheap. instructions manual is technical jargon wise -would be better if it explained in laymans terms "if you want to do this then go to page.... etc"
if connecting camcorder with dv cable find out amount of "pins" you need to provide connection between camcorder & dv input on front of player. other than these minor points its good enough.

+ Good looking, excellent colour range (darks especially), 600Hz is very noticeable especially when watching rugby, the intelligent backlight feature works well going from a light to dark room. For a flat screen, the speakers are pretty good quality too.

- no automatic input selector, have to manually select between HDMI1,HDMI2,AV etc.

+ Picture and sound are outstanding especially considering the price.

- Would prefer a user manual than a CD, haven't got round to viewing the CD. The dvd remote seems to interfere with the TV settings. Very minor prob.

TV Buyers Guide

Manufacturer's Description

42" HD Ready Plasma TV
With a single-layer design, this HD-Ready plasma TV has everything you need for a truly amazing viewing experience. Better yet, the PQ6000 series features an array of connectivity options, including 3x HDMI™, and a USB port to connect to all your digital media.

600Hz
LG 600Hz Sub-Field Driving Plasma technology provides zero motion blur and the ultimate razor sharp response time perfect for watching high speed viewing such as sports and movies.

HDMI 1.3 Deep Color / 3xHDMI
HDMI 1.3 supports 30-bit, 36-bit, and 48-bit colour depth. HDMI 1.3 eliminates on-screen colour banding for smooth tonal transitions and subtle gradations. It also enables increased contrast ratio, and represents many times more shades of grey between black and white.

HD-Ready
High-definition television, or HDTV, is a new standard of TV with better-quality picture and sound than normal TV , the sort of standard you would see at a cinema. HDTV brings you closer to the action, offering more colours and a higher resolution picture (twice as many horizontal lines). This can make HDTV images clearer, sharper, more detailed and very life-like.

Intelligent Sensor 2
LG’s upgraded Intelligent Sensor automatically adjusts picture quality based on viewing environment, to optimise picture and reduce your energy bill.
