LG 37LC2D Reviews: 37" Screen LCD HD Ready TV

+ Overall very good T.V.

- Only one HDMI imput

+ Great value for mony, Just worried I might go blind......

- Not being able to switch it off, will only go to standby. Not a huge problem as I just turn it off at the plug.

+ I am delighted with the set. I spent ages researching and looked at some televisions within a much higher price bracket and specification but without doubt this one offered the best value for money. I like the speakers at the bottom of the screen as they balance the overall appearance with the size of the screen.

- Not the best sound quality but better than most at this price level or even just above.

+ A good, value for money, 37" television

+ Excellent quality. Easy to set up and use. Stylish design. Really pleased with it, in fact so pleased - I bought another one.

- No way of actually turning the power OFF on the set, unless you turn off at the mains. Fortunately I can. Sometimes the picture is rather dark, but simply increasing the brightness does the job.

+ The PIP (picture in picture - 2 screens at once) is very useful. The number of scart inputs is good.

- without an HD signal the picture is not good at all but I believe it will be amazing once HD channels are more accessible and cheaper to get. There is no power button, only stand buy so unless switched off at the mains it remains on stand by using energy.

+ Good value fror money with good quality picture

- This model has only one HDMI port but LG has included two HDMI ports in the new model.
Having to manually change channels from HDMI to Aux or Freeview and vice versa.

- No off button only standby button, have had to buy a device that switches the power off when on standby - this is really the only negative feature

+ Generally, it does what it says on the tin! We prefer the black surrounds to those which are silver.

- Ocassionally needs prompting to resize screen for non WS outputs. Digital tuner struggles to find signal at times, despite the aerial having been up and working for over 17 years

+ Great picture quality with bluray dvd through ps3. Very good picture quality from standard fromat dvd through upscaling dvd player. Set up about as simple as it gets with good connectivity. Sounds good. Great for playing games on.

- Minor negative points, could do with 2 hdmi inputs and couldn't use with rev.6 Sky remote but ok with rev.10 remote.

First set was faulty but was changed quickly!

- Back lighting or something like that shows through in the top left corner of the screen and down the left side and cannot be amended in any way that i can see,and the screen is not perfectly clear (it seems fuzzy in places) also it does not seem black enough!
Also the instruction book could be a lot clearer.
this is the second set that i have had as the first one was faulty with a mark in the center of the screen!

+ Brilliant picture, and looks very sleek compared to some large TVs. Excellent for Playstation 3 games!

- Occassionally crashes so the screen is off but the standby light says its still on! Just requires the plug to be pulled.
Haven't found a quick way to cycle through the different inputs (video, sky, dvd etc.) you have to get a menu up and then select the one you want.

+ Once the right setup is found picture quality for a 37" TV is very good (as good as samsung and sony etc), use AV Forums for advice on optimum settings(it really does make a difference).

- Backlight is a little uneven, infact gettinmg a little worse over time. Mainly noticable at night time.

- The built-in freeview tuner occasionally doesn't recieve a good signal for BBC 1, 2 and News 24, leaving the screen just blank. Whereas my previous seperate set-top box recieved a constantly perfect signal.

+ This is the second lcd 37" tv i have purchased this year, my other tv is a high price range lcd,to be honest the Lg tv is just as good as the more expensive one.Save your money and buy the LG its an excellent buy.
