+ - Nice Design
- Good Image
- Fairly quick response time, compared to othe LCDs in the house!

- - If you really want great sound for movies etc then buy some external speakers, otherwise sound is pretty good for general viewing!

+ Great design and Dolby surround sound quality.

- Changing channels can be slow and sometimes erratic as the signal sent from the remote control does not seem to always be picked up by the television or the TV is slow to respond to the command sent from the remote. No actual off button, so can only put the TV on standby mode. So have to switch TV off at the wall plug/socket when not in use.

+ Excellent stylish design. Looks good in any room with any decor.

- You can (or I can) only get it to go on standby. There is no switch on the tv to turn it off, so you have to make sure plug is accessible. Other than that absolutely nothing.

+ Good quality, sleek design and value for money compared to other lcd's of this size. Good connectivity for PC, audio, PCMCIA etc.

- Although it has a wide viewing angle from side-to-side, it is no good for mounting high on a wall as the picture quality is very poor when viewing from below.

+ Easy to set up and use. Picked up all freeview channels easily. The picture quality is excelllent especially when watching movies with an upscaling DVD player connected via HDMI cable.

- Sound has to turned up high in a large room but not a problem if you're watching in a bedroom or small room.

+ Looks great, picture quality and contrast are excellent as is the sound. Lots of connections for games consoles etc. Would definitely recommend it.

- The only bad point was that when mounted on the wall, if you are looking up at the screen then the picture is distorted and difficult to see (from close range). Problem easily solved with a tilting wall mount.

+ Good quality LCD at a reasonable price

- Not able to switch any LG Televisions off they all revert to standby, in a ever increasing eco friendly world, this could be improved by LG to fully switch off

+ the picture quality is excellent, very sharp and clear. The sound is good as well and the remote easy to navigate.

- One minor flaw is the 'pre-set' display settings. both 'cinema' and 'game' are incredibly dark and almost too dark to enjoy either cinema or games on those setting.

+ After a lot of research I got everything I wanted. Good looks, excellent sound & picture quality with easy set up, & all at an affordable price. This is my first LG purchase but it won't be the last. I am a very satisfied customer.

- A little slow changing between channels, but its not a serious problem.

- Screen can be very unstable if not locked down with the screws supplied - but this is not an option if you are using a glass stand!

Expert reviews for LG 26LG3000

TechRadar expert review

On paper, the LG 26LG3000 looks like a potential winner. As well as having a remarkably high (for its size) claimed contrast ratio of 15,000:1 and good brightness output of 500cd/m², it even manages a pseudo-surround sound mode, promising audio as well as visual talent than most rivals. But before we get too excited, though, the 26LG3000 doesn't carry the XD Engine image processing used so effectively by all of its bigger siblings. Also, its sound comes from two one-way speakers, rather than the four two-way speaker situation enjoyed by the 37in and 42in LG3000s.Fashionable TVLG se…

TV Buyers Guide

Manufacturer's Description

26" HD Ready LCD TV
This LG high-definition LCD TV with built-in digital Freeview looks great on or off. Featuring three preset AV modes to optimise image quality for sports, cinema, or games, it also boasts a sleek, stylish design.

Freeview
Freeview is a subscription-free service that delivers up to 48 digital TV channels, including ITV2, E4, BBC3, and Film4-plus 24 digital radio stations, with no contract and no satellite dish.

2 HDMI INPUTS
Connect your High Definition devices such as games console or blu-ray player through the two H-D-M-I ports for a true High Definition multimedia experience.

Invisible Speaker
LG’s Invisible Speaker System has been fine-tuned by world-renowned audio expert Mark Levinson for an increased sweet spot. Breaking through the fixed idea that speaker grills must be exposed, this system provides a fully realized sweet spot, and powerful, realistic sound with speakers integrated into the panel design.

HD-Ready
High-definition television, or HDTV, is a new standard of TV with better-quality picture and sound than normal TV , the sort of standard you would see at a cinema. HDTV brings you closer to the action, offering more colours and a higher resolution picture (twice as many horizontal lines). This can make HDTV images clearer, sharper, more detailed and very life-like.

15,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio
With a contrast ratio of 15,000:1, this LG HDTV provides vivid images, even in a bright environment, eliminating optical glare and minimising light reflection.

Clear Voice
Sometimes, when watching movies, dialogue gets lost in the background due to the down-mixing that occurs when your TV pushes 5.1 Surround Sound through the TV’s 2-channel speaker system. LG Clear Voice Technology alters the sound balance to emphasize human voices and reduce background noise.
