+ can warm croissants, good for defrosting potato waffles, can take a peek during toasting/heating

- in the beginning you always forget to press the 'on' switch because with most other toasters they switch on automatically once you press the lever down.

- Difficult to learn to use, not conventional toater pop up system, and difficult to rest when needs doing a bit more, have to switch off at plug and start again. I will have to sit down with the manual again and learn it properly

+ Cooks toast, bagels and hot cross buns really nicely one you get the temperature setting right and I love the fact you can take whatever you're cooking out to have a look without turning it off. It also looks great and I quite like the fact it beeps rather than pops up.

- The only slight issue I have with my toaster is that if you leave it turned on at the socket (which you probably shouldn't anyway!!) it makes a loud humming sound. I don't think this is a fault as it works perfectly otherwise, it's just a bit annoying.

Score 9.0/10

+ It was larger than I anticipated but I've got used to it now. My old one was only a two slice one and very much on its last legs. The on light shows up well and am getting used to finding the setting I like for my toast. As my husband remarked we both can sit down to our toast together instead of one having to wait for his/hers.

- Have't found any yet.

+ Plenty of room for 4 slices of bread, or muffins/teacakes
Peeking at the bread to see if its burning is really useful
I love the toaster making a sound so I know that its ready while its still hot
The top is rounded so crumbs don't gather around the slots
Quite attractive

- My husband moans about it taking a long time, but it doesn't bother me as it tells me when its ready
Its quite large/long, but its worth it if theres lots of room for bread/muffins/crumpets

+ The Peek & View feature is very useful, if you want to toast something but not sure of the best setting. And the long wide slots have coped with everything, I like it !!

- It was not made clear from the Kenwood marketing that this is NOT a pop-up toaster. But I got use to the whistle when my toast is ready. And even though I read the dimensions this is a Big Toaster.

+ Looks great. Long slots on both sides fits 4 standard size pieces of bread, or 2 big chunky ones.

- If bread is too thick, i.e. from a 'cut it yourself loaf' door step size, the bread has a tendency to burn on the bits that are the widest. Not a problem if you always use precut loaves

+ Narrower "footprint" that other four slice toasters. Doesn't throw the toast at you, keeps it warm or will reheat it. Takes most sizes of bread, tall or thick. Makes good toast.

- One small niggle, the marking on the darkness setting knob is difficult to see, especially bleery eyed in the morning.

+ Sleek design. Easy to clean. Absolutely love the way it bleeps when toast is ready rather than ejecting at 90 mph! Keeps toast warm because it doesn't eject. Lift up feature is excellent to check and see how toast is doing. Accepts baps and muffins etc, but also sliced bread! Toasts evenly. This toaster is perfect - buy one!
