Does what it says on the tin - it makes bread. Superb bread. We've decided to make all our own bread rather than buying it because it tastes so much better and we know exactly what's in it. We've previously owned a breadmaker (different brand) and decided on the Kenwood because it makes a larger loaf than the old one. So far we've had basic white bread, French bread, brioche, wholemeal bread and sun-dried tomato bread, plus marmalade cake; we've also used the dough setting to oven-bake our own bread rolls. It's easy to use, the recipes in the book are easy to follow and the finished product is better than we can buy in the shops.
-
We haven't used the delay feature because the clips which hold the pan in place don't always do as they should. The result is that the pan sometimes jumps out of the clips and the drive to the kneader is disconnected so the dough doesn't get mixed or kneaded properly. As a result, we need to be present while the machine is working to ensure that it performs as it should; we can't trust it to work unsupervised.

It is ok, but the major weak point is the way that the bread "tin" fixes into the machine. It has the weakest, cheapest, most flimsy looking metal clip that looks like it would break at any time. This was the reason why i returned it and paid the extra for a panasonic sd252, more expensive but miles better.

Produces very good loaves. Has a special programme for bread mixes which works well. Has a good rapid bake programme. Programmes are ajustable for loaf size and crust colour.

Machine itself is rather tall so on a normal work surface the average height woman can not see the display properly. You need to be sure that the pan is properly pressed into the clips or it can jump out during use.

Excellent bread with a crisp crust - it is always eaten as soon as it's out of the machine because the children love it. Jam making function very successful. Timer also makes excellent bread. No fancy functions, but excellent value - we just now hope that it will last longer than a year!
-
Would be nice if the bread bucket was slightly longer - a 750 g loaf is eaten very quickly and the 1kg loaf would just be taller with the same number of slices!
Bread bucket is sometimes difficult to click into place and can then be thrown around during the more vigorous parts of the cycle.

Easy Simple to use, compact, sensible shape that fits on your work surface and doesn't take up lots of room. The main point is it does the job and produces good loaves of bread time after time, we love it.
It's fast to fill with ingredients and get going once you get used to the measures you'll be making getting in a loaf on the go in just a minute, cleaning is a breeze it hardly needs any just put some water in the bottom of the bread bucket straight after your loaf is finished and then wipe out.
So go ahead use your loaf and get one.
-
Sometimes a little difficult to push the bread bucket into position but this isn't a real worry. It's quite noisy when it's sirring so might annoy some people I don't know what other bread makers are like though.

Not as easy to use as my previous kenwood the BM200. I think i'd got so used to the old model that it was like second nature making bread and Jam. The new one has many more features, but i think i was expecting to operate it as easily as the old one. The old one was less complicated, but didn't have all of the features of the new one. Makes excellent bread, indistinguishable from bought loaves. In particular the way it produces crusts (of varying degrees of darkness, which you select) is impressive. The fastbake facility works very well. Yes, the button for this is rather large and is where the 'on' button should be, but as long as you're careful it's fine. The key thing, as with all breadmakers, is to measure the ingredients exactly. Finally, a few people in previous reviews mentioned the flimsy clips: I don't agree. They seem quite sturdy to me - all they are are means of positioning the pan firmly in place. I recommend this completely.

Easy to use and the delay timer is brilliant. I love waking up to the smell of fresh bread!

As with my other breadmaker the paddle is an issue as it soon loses its "non stick" quality.

This is a fantastic breadmaker! I've made a lot of the recipes included in the booklet and they have all turned out to be delicious. It's really easy to use and you get a handy measuring jug and spoon too in the box which I've found useful.

all bread makers are a bit bulky for worktop space but this one is not too bad, do find that being shorter has a disadvantage as all the controls and viewing panels are on the top but the instructions are clear, and have been successful on all but one occasion. Recipe booklet is good and soon inspires you to add ingredients.

hole in the base of the loaf from the mixing paddle, can press rapid cook too easily with the wrong mixture in that can leave you with a stunted loaf

Looks Good. Paddle does not get stuck in the loaf of bread (this happened nine times out of ten in my previous breadmaker)
-
Jam maker absolutely useless. a) it makes too little and b) you have to stay with the machine (over 1hr)in case the jam boils over.
The quick bake program made very heavy bread.
