JVC Everio GZ-MG330 Reviews: JVC HDD storage camcorder

+ Cracking little camcorder that is easy to carry around, quick to set up and easy to down load information. The image quality is crystal clear although the sound doesn't pick up too well. Very satisfied and have recommended it to others.

- Ability to pick up sounds.
Battery soon wears down.

+ I have never owned a cam corder. I have used a very old model tape drive vhs cam corder. I bought this as a gift for my lady for crimbo. It is immaculate. Lightweight, easy on the wrist and the functions are a doddle to understand. The software instals in no time to Vista or XP and uploading from the HDD on the camcorder to the HDD on the system couldn't be any simpler. For the price and with a 30Gb HDD, perfect!!

+ Beautifully compact, excellent zoom lens, picture quality very good for standard definition, battery life excellent even though supplied battery is very small. Red finish is exquisite adding to the solid quality feel.

- Laser touch can be a bit unresponsive, Supplied software is next to useless, .mod files are best converted to .mpg before editing.

+ I feel that this is a great entry level camera which you can pretty much pick up and start shooting with straight away. The camera itself has a great feel to it and oozes quality and seems sturdy and reliable - which is what I expect from JVC.

+ I can't fault this camera. Hardly had to refer to the manual! Automatic shutter would have been nice but it even warns you if you forget. Can even see the screen in Florida sunshine.

- Honestly can't think of any at present.

+ Very easy to use and lightweight. Great for family occasions. Storage capacity fairly good. Seems to pick up audio well. Easy TV playback.

- Need to use software when on pc to access footage. May be less awkward than it seems but on first impressions a drawback. Would only use on highest resolution.

+ The price, the size, the hours you get, just got back from Disney World Florida have plenty of footage of my 6 year old having a wonderful time.

- The zoom facility found acess to it a bit akward while filming.

+ I bought this product for my wife as a Christmas present, she is not very technical and wanted a cam corder she could point and shoot. "It does what it says" The recordings she has made so far of our grand daughter are excellent and when played back through the TV are DVD quality. I have only scored the battery as a 5 as we have not had the camcorder long enough to see how the battery performs. The one supplied with the camera has a rlatively short life compared with some of the more expensive batteries you can purchase seperately. I am positive the battery given longer would also score 10.

+ Small, light, easy to use.

- The manual and explanation of how to us some of the functions was poor. Also I found the buttons a bit small, but my fingers may be a bit big!

+ Lightweight - easy operation - all neccesary buttons within good reach of basic grip. Simplistic functionality with enough content for a basic everyday filmaker. Plenty of storage space for recordings with a recording quality selection allowing high quality or low quality images. Storage sapce will alter in accordnace with needs. Upoloads are of superb clarity and enhanced if you have a matching HD monitor or TV. With the USB - it's a simple plug and play - no need to use JVC software included if you have a video or player package already installed

- Standard cell battery with only a couple hours of life. Okay for most needs but would benefit from having a handy second battery if out for a full day. Movie format is a .MOV which works on most components but not all. I had difficulty running the films on my work laptop using Windows XP via Powerpoint Presentation. Also my MP3 didn't have the necessary driver for this format - only .WMV Not a major fault but something to bare in mind
