+ Works well in good light conditions and represents excellent value for money

- when used with a long lens (e.g Sigma APO 70-300mm f4-5.6) autofocus either doesn't work or is unreliable. Realistically this is not a problem, but users needing autofocus should note that an f2.8 lens would perhaps be more suitable depending on light conditions. Don't be put off however as under manual control produced some exceptional early morning (low light) shots whilst on Safari in Kenya.

- The EXIF data won't, of course, change but that's as much to do with the camera as the teleconverter.

+ Does what it says but has to be manually focused although at that magnification a tripod is virtually a necessity.

- I had hoped that I could maintain auto-focus with my lens!

+ The conversion you get with this lens is awesome. Im using a cheapy 90-300mm lens, and this Tele con, and i get a 35mm equiv of around 960 mm. Very impressed, but my lens isnt the best out there.

- Optical quality suffers. With this lens, on a crop sensor, you only have auto focus if there is lots of light in the picture, as this equates to F/11. Picture quality is reasonable, printable at 7*5 but not really anything else. You have to be on a tripod to reduce camera blur.

+ Gives x2 picture size.

- Very difficult to focus manually using my Canon 70-300 lens. Autofocus not an option due to speed of my lens. Most images when viewed later are unusable due to poor sharpness.

+ very easy to use you get a better quality image when used with a tripod.

+ Works well with my Canon EOS350D coupled with a canon 75 - 350mm Ultrasonic telephoto lens.

+ Cheap way to get a larger lens ie 600mm from standard 300mm lens, only increases lens length by about 1 inch, so does not give problems holding camera steady.

- Auto focus on lens does not work when fitted

- You will probably need to use manual focus for most lenses but a useful addition to your camera arsenal.

- The auto focus does not work on a zoom lenes when nearly fully zoomed out
