Score 9.0/10+ This is the Android device I was waiting for. Feature-packed, stylish and with a 3.5mm headphone jack! The Google account and social media integration is excellent and the Android Market offers endless enhancements.
- Battery life is, unsurprisingly, a little limited. HSPA, WiFi, GPS, etc. all need juice, so a bit of judicious toggling is required, and even then a daily charge has been necessary so far. The performance has been a bit laggy on occasion, but I've been advised that upgrading the bundled memory card to a Class 6 SDHC should overcome this.

Fully customisable interface, thousands of applications available on the Android Market. I've not paid for a single app yet and i've installed all sorts of things, including SatNav.
The interface is very smooth and the Teflon coating on the phone helps to keep it clean, whilst the anti grease coating on the screen makes fingerprint removal a simple case of a quick wipe on your shirt.
-
I suspect that I may have a bad example of the phone as I can't get more than 36 hours out of the battery, even with all widgets turned off and reasonable usage. (two of my collegues have got the same phone; one guy gets 2 days, the other gets 3.)
I also seem to have problems with the edges of the touch screen... Space and backspace don't always register. (again, my collegues seem fine)

Good looking phone, Easy to use and understand. Great camera and video camera, and I love the weather page. And its accurate too.!
The GPS works well, all in all its the best phone I've had.
-
The keypad is a bit finiky at first especially if you have fat fingers, but after a while you get used to it.
I have found if you turn the phone on its side, it becomes much easier to use the keypad, because they are better spaced out.

Score 9.0/10+ Excellent HTC designed interface and plenty of home screens with lots of well designed widgets to populate them with. App store is basic (awaiting an update) but fairly well stocked with useful and innovative applications and games, you'll definately find something exciting. WiFi, GPS and HSDPA work flawlessly and easily, easy to toggle each with simple on/off switches to conserve battery. Operating system is smooth and well powered by the phones hardware, which makes for smooth animation transitions between screens and very nice 3D performance in games. Accelerometer works very well with a number of apps and games.
- Bluetooth file transfer via the standard OBEX push method is, for the time being, broken which means that you will be unable to simply transfer photos, music, videos between phones, something most phones have been able to handle with ease for at least 3/4 years. Other bluetooth functions are fine however (headsets etc). Battery life on this phone is not so great, especially if you are a heavy user of WiFi connections and the high speed 3G networks. Some apps will also drain your battery life but this is mainly down to bad coding and not the phone itself. I can't think of any other bad points worth mentioning!

Score 9.0/10+ Fantastic interface, open 'app' marketplace, great google integration. Fantastic if you use GMail, Google Calendars and Contacts. The facebook and twitter integration with your contacts is fantastic. The always on internet is very useful with the fully featured browser. The threaded SMS messaging is so great, can't believe I lived without it.
- Can occasionally be a little laggy, battery life is just shy of two days with average use.

Score 10.0/10+ Very Responsive touchscreen, Has yet to ever hang up. One of the best phones I have owned ever. Would recommend to everyone
- Camera isn't too great. But it is not really a cameraphone so I dont mind.

Score 9.0/10+ the big, clear screen and brilliant touch recognition make this phone really easy to use. The android market gives access to hundreds of extra programs and software to keep it up to date, and there's tons of great games and fun apps. The customizable home screens allow you keep all of your favourite apps in easy reach. The casing is made with a kevlar coating and the screen is scratch resistant to keep it as good as new for longer than most other phones, and the size and weight are perfect. The operating system is quick to load apps and rarely lags.
- If you use the internet a lot, or the Last.fm program for online music, the battery goes down fairly quickly. These's no flash for the camera so night time shots are no good, but it still takes pretty good pics during the day

Score 9.0/10+ Great tinkerer's phone. Software looks great and works really well. Great application Market. Every feature you need.
- Can be a bit slow at times. Not sure Android is quite ready for mass market - you need to appreciate the trade offs between battery life and all the network hungry applications.

Score 9.0/10+ The G2 Touch has massive capability with loads of features under the hood. The phone comes with staple programs installed so its fully functional from the word go, but its capable of so much more. Every time you sit down and think 'wouldn't it be good if it did this' you simply go on android market place and find out somebody else thought that too and made a program (normally free) that does just that!
- The battery life is only reasonable and could have been better. The bluetooth is not for file transfer and pics, etc cannot be shared over it. The bluetooth is only for connecting to headsets, hands free, etc. Sound files cannot be shared over email either, although pics can. Looks like a quest to protect copyright is spoiling what should be basic features.

Score 8.0/10+ App Market is great, some really nice apps, like the keypad and the touchflo works well too
- Can be a bit sluggish UI wise and the batttery life sucks. Also the camera is really bad indeed as it doesn't have a flash so everything blurs. It could do with a hardware photo button like the Nokia N82

Score 9.0/10+ Best version of the Android OS I've used so far. Sense UI is very user friendly. Battery life is a lot better than the G1 but still not quite enough
-
Sense UI can sometimes slow down but I expect this will be fixed in a later update.
Battery life could be longer

The HTC Hero smartphone takes the Google Android platform to new heights.Featuring HTC's Sense user interface, the HTC Hero is feels like a proper rival to the Apple iPhone 3GS, leaving the T-Mobile G1 in its wake. HTC's new handset strikes off a lot of firsts for Android. It's the first Android phone with a 3.5mm headphone jack. It's the first Android phone with multitouch. It's the first Android phone to support Adobe's Flash format for the web. Slightly bizarrely, it's the first mobile phone to be coated in Teflon...

Mobile Phone Buyers GuideManufacturer's Description
TC Hero is our first phone to embody HTC Sense – an intuitive, seamless experience built upon three fundamental principles – make it mine, stay close, and discover the unexpected.
Make it Mine
With HTC Hero, personalization reaches a level never before possible. Rather than burying important content under layers of menus, the HTC Hero lets you put it at glance view, with a selection of widgets that can be placed right on the home screen. The widgets themselves can be personalized with a variety of designs and sizes that best match your personality.
With Scenes, a new profile feature, HTC Hero becomes multiple phones in one. Create and switch between Scenes that reflect different moments in your life. Your Hero becomes a weekend phone that helps you relax with your choice of tunes, catch up with your favorite friends and capture some memories with HTC Footprints™. And when you go on a trip, your phone becomes your personal guide and gives you instant access to local time, weather and maps.
Stay Close
Today, staying in touch with the people in your life means managing a variety of communication channels and applications ranging from phone calls and emails to Facebook updates. HTC Hero makes staying close as simple as turning to your friend and saying hello. When you view people, you see the different ways to get in touch, you also see all your interactions like emails sent to your personal and work accounts. You can even check for social network updates and event notices as well as see the latest pictures your friends uploaded to popular photo sharing sites.
Discover the Unexpected
Many of the most memorable moments in your life are experienced, not explained. Even basic functions like the dialer will pleasantly surprise you on the HTC Hero. You can find a person by dialing their phone number or simply by dialing the first few letters of their name.
With HTC Hero, you can look at things through different perspectives. Your inbox is not just a list of emails, but a catalog of conversations, a collection of notes flagged as important, and a document library of all your emails with attachments. Your Album is not just the photos saved on your phone. It is also a gateway to online collections of you and your friends on Facebook or Flickr.
Search just about anything, anywhere on your HTC Hero. The dedicated Search button combs through tweets in Twitter™, locates people in your contact list, finds emails in your inbox, searches through appointments in the calendar and very nearly finds needles in haystacks.
