Score 10.0/10+ Excellent printer - the best I've had. Quality output of 6x4 photos from the separate paper tray. General b&w and colour printing is excellent. 6 colours a good idea, too.
- Not happy about the Bluetooth compatability - or at least HP's inability to troubleshoot a problem that I have had with it. USB is fine and it does with work OK with the non HP Bluetooth to my laptop, but not via HP Bluetooth to my PC.

Score 9.0/10+ Overall performance excellent, and particularly helpful information on small screen.
- Some hiccups experienced, but mostly as a result of my switching from an Epson to an HP printer, and diificulty in making instant adjustments.

TechRadar expert review
While the Canon iP6220D opts for tri-colour cartridges, HP has finally broken a life-long habit and brought a 'single-ink' printer to the market. The Photosmart 8250 has a fixed print head and six separate ink tanks, which are individually replaceable. The theory is that you can save money by only replacing colours that have actually run out, but unlike the Epson R220, the HP 8250 really does translate this into the cheapest running costs in the group, as well as offering the fastest print speeds here. Photos tend to be slightly less glossy than Canon or Epson prints, but the colour r…

Pocket Lint expert review
Fast cars, fast games, now we have fast printers. Hewlett Packard claims that its new Photosmart 8250 inkjet photo printer produces 4 x 6in photos in under a quarter of a minute. We tried it out with borderless prints, which always take a bit longer. A 4 x 6in print using normal print mode took around 20 seconds and a borderless A4 photo took about two and a half minutes, making it a very quick printer indeed...
